Paul Bazinet Obituary

Paul G. Bazinet, 86, passed away March 2, 2009 in Barefoot Bay FL after a long illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ruth E. (Pierce), two children, Paul G. Jr. and his wife Mary (Bishop) of South Grafton, Carol Sansoucy and her husband Paul of Uxbridge, one sister, Cecile Santella of WA, six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Adelard and Mary Rose (Provencal), two brothers, Arthur and George, three sisters, Blanche Bergantine, Irene Pearson, Clara Spadea and one granddaughter, Lea Bazinet.

Mr. Bazinet was born August 26, 1922 in Worcester, was raised in Grafton living there until 1986 when he moved to Florida. He attended Grafton Schools and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School. He was a US Navy World War II veteran serving overseas as a Carpenter's Mate 1st class. Mr. Bazinet was a builder in this area for many years. He was also a Clerk of The Works for several municipal projects including Grafton High School, Blackstone Valley Vocational High School in Upton, Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Littleton and Montachusett Technical Vocational High School where he then became plant manager working until his retirement. Paul was a dedicated citizen person serving Grafton in many ways as a Selectman for 18 years, Assistant Building Inspector, also serving on The Traffic Safety, The Police Station Building and Water Study Committees, and as a trustee of The South Grafton Community House. He was a life member and past Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1497 in South Grafton, a founding member and longtime coach in The Grafton Little League. Paul was a parishioner of St. James Church in South Grafton and St. Luke's Church in Barefoot Bay, a member of The Elks, Moose and Orioles fraternal organizations also in Florida. Memorial donations may be made in his name to The Grafton Little League or VNA Hospice Care, 120 Thomas St. Worcester MA 01608.

Funeral Arrangements

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday April 4th at 10:30 am in St. James Roman Catholic Church, 89 Main St. (Rt 122A) in South Grafton. He will then be laid to rest with military honors in Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of Roney Funeral Homes of Grafton.
