Mrs. Joyce: I recognized that smile in the photo, it brought me back 43 years ago to when I first met with Paul Joyce, my English teacher. The memories of those classess and his willingness to take the time with those of us who needed more time to learn. I remember him. It is sad to know so much about him now, and only then when the worth of that knowledge can truly be appreciated and he is gone.

John,
I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I remember having him for English but more so for his Public Speaking class. I was just talking about him the other day to my husband and telling him that because of your father I am very aware of the many times that people say "um" and I make sure I don't say it as much, thanks to your dad!
My thoughts are with you and your family.

I remember Mr. Joyce as one of my favorite teachers! I was a member of the Class of 1968 and believe we did that first annual musical, "Carnival" with my mom, Norma Thomes, playing the piano! I hold fond memories of his classes and all the extra activities we were involved with him. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Know that he made a difference in a lot of young lives.
