Paul E. Noel

Paul E. Noel, 77, of Millbury, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester, after being sticken ill at his home.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Ina D. (Anderson) Noel; 3 children: Lloyd P. Noel and his wife, Deborah (Moreau) Noel, of Charlton, Paula I. Klys and her husband, John, of Charlton, and Nancy D. Graves and her husband, Timothy, of Oxford; 7 grandchildren: Shawn Noel of Spencer, Jessica Russell and her husband Timothy, of Warren, Alyssa Noel of Southbridge, Nicholas Noel and Hillary Graves, both of Oxford, Jonathan Klys of New Orleans, and Joel Klys of Charlton; 5 great-grandchildren: Ashleigh Prince of Southbridge, Ryan and Julia Noel of Worcester, and Isabelle and Zachary Russell of Warren; 2 sisters: Cecile Johnson of North Grafton and Marie Saucier of Millbury; and nephews and nieces. His brother, Aime Noel of Millbury predeceased him.

Paul was born in Millbury on January 29, 1930, a son of the late Napoleon and Angelina (Gagnon) Noel, and was a lifelong resident. He was educated at Assumption School and Millbury Memorial High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving as a Sergeant in the 3rd Infantry Division. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the United Nations Service Medal.

Paul was a skilled carpenter who worked out of Carpenters Local 107, Worcester, for over 35 years before he retired. He was a Life Member of Charles F. Minney Post #3329, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Millbury. He enjoyed spending summers in Maine. A loving husband, father, and grampa, he will be sadly missed.

His funeral will be Wednesday, January 30, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., with a funeral Mass at 10AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 10 Waters St. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, January 29, from 5:30-8:30 PM. Members of Charles F. Minney Post will conduct a ritual at 7:30 PM during calling hours.
