Today marks one month since Paul's passing. As I listened to today's homily, the priest focused on the need of people to feel as though their lives have significance. "Does my life mean anything?" is a question that this particular pastor often hears. There is no doubt that Paul's life had meaning, and that meaning was evident in the many blessings he received and shared with others.

The words, "I am so blessed," are words I heard daily on our early morning walks. Paul was very grateful for the blessings of his success in business, his wonderful circle of friends, and his ability to enjoy life. But the blessing he valued most was his family, and the blessing he cherished most was his son, Jarrod. Every day he would say of Jarrod while emphasizing each word, "I am so very proud of him. He is a good man."

I will miss those early morning walks, and a friendship I know will never be duplicated. So, Paul, if you're up there wondering if your life had meaning, I can most assuredly say it did to everyone who was blessed by your presence in his or her life, and I can also say your life was a very meaningful part of mine.

It is now close to two weeks after my Uncle Paul's passing. My sister Ashley and I were blessed to be able to be there with family and friends during the final hours of my Uncle’s life. I consider myself even more blessed to have the chance to have gotten closer to my cousin Jarrod. I know how proud my Uncle was of his son and it is so prevalent why.

I was saddened to hear about Paul's passing. He was a fair-minded man and great to work with. He will be missed by all that knew him. I'll never forget the endless cribbage games and the company picnic on his boat. Rest in Peace.

What is there to say about Paul.... We may not have always agreed on everything but he was part of my life. I would either see him around his home, on his boat or at the Narrows. He was one of the few people that wrote to me in Iraq. I will never forget that. He was there to listen when I needed it the most. He was a good friend to my mother and prayed for my sister when she was in need. Thank you Paul. I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to you in person but I will do it in my own way. Hooah..

Paul was blessed to have had such a close, loving and supportive family. I know how much you all meant to him. I know how much you will miss him. I feel blessed too, for having shared the joys and all the proud moments over the years of our son, Jarrod. For all of those who loved and cared so much about him, he will be sadly and deeply missed.
