Sorry,I know this is a little late but I just read this obituary online today. I am a 65 year old that was 15 year old resident of valley view school (farm) and still have fond memories of the facilities, staff and more importantly Dr. Phil Spiva. I will forever cherish the love and support I received there.

Phil has always been an inspiration to educators with his commitment to students who needed support and endorsement for their abilities and talents. His support of the Independent Educational Consultant Foundation was consistent and significant in helping underserved students gain access to educational options. Phil will be missed in the educational world not only in Massachusetts but in the entire country. Michael Spence, IECA Foundation
