Pierre Aubuchon Obituary

Pierre J. "Peter" Aubuchon, Sr., 84, died Sunday, Feb. 17, at his home in Fitchburg after a short illness. At his side, his devoted companion Bridget Generazio. He was born in Fitchburg, on October 5, 1923, the son of the late William E. and Corrine (Charron) Aubuchon.

Following his graduation from Assumption Preparatory School in 1941, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served as a member of the military police in the 22nd Company, participated in the landing at Normandy, and later served with the initial occupation troops at Osaka, Japan. He was honorably, discharged in January 1946, and joined his family business, the Aubuchon Hardware Co., Inc. His employment spanned 47 years, where he retired as the Executive Vice President of the corporation. He also served on the board of directors of Aubuchon Hardware Co., Inc, Aubuchon Reality Co., Inc. and Westminster Reality LLC.

Peter leaves his children, Angela C. Howart, Renée A. Bagley, Pierre J. Aubuchon Jr. and Christopher W. Aubuchon. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Claire B. Bagley and Ariana M. Aubuchon; his sister Claire P. Moran, and was predeceased by his siblings Maurice A. Aubuchon, Bernard W. Aubuchon, Denise B. Ouellette, and William E. Aubuchon, Jr. His late wife Elena E. (Femmino) Aubuchon, died in 1995.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main St. with a mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church St., Westminster. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
