Raymond Marley Donohoe Sr., 81

Watertown, CT - Raymond Marley Donohoe, Sr. died peacefully at his home on December 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

Raymond ("Ray") was born in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1933, to William W. and Florence M. (Howe) Donohoe. Ray later moved to Flushing, New York, and served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. Ray married Jessie A. Mundle on October 6, 1956, received his bachelor's degree from C.W. Post in Long Island, and he and Jessie later moved to Watertown, Connecticut in 1964. Ray has always been active in the Watertown community, having served as the President of the Lions Club, President of the St. John the Evangelist Home and School Association, and as a founding member of Carolyn's Place, a pregnancy care center. Ray also participated in Toastmasters International, and was a straight and steady golfer at the Watertown Golf Club, boasting a tremendous short game. Ray retired as Executive Vice President of American Bank in 1998.

Ray leaves one daughter, Patricia Barber, and her husband Peter of Watertown, CT, as well as one son, Raymond Donohoe, Jr., and his wife Caroline of Shrewsbury, MA. He leaves his grandchildren: Alyssa and William Miller, Jennifer, Peter, and Patrick Barber, and William and Timothy Donohoe. He also leaves multiple nephews and nieces, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Jessie, and his daughter, Maureen A. Donohoe. He was always a loving, generous, and caring individual to all.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. from Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main Street Watertown, to St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St. Watertown, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Platt Road Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 5:00 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Of all my memories of Mr. Donohoe I cannot remember a time when he was not smiling and happy. He was always a positive influence for me growing up. God Bless.
