Raymond Stafford Obituary

87, Appleton, passed away at home with his family at his side, Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012. He was born

In Kingsford, MI on July 18, 1925, the son of Daniel & Louise Stafford.

Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather & Great Grandfather. He is survived by

8 children: Jeffrey, Gregory, Teresa Kallberg, Mark, Keith, Paul, Cheryl Bundy and Barry; 3 Brothers: Bob, Fred and Billy; 2 Sisters: Margie Zeeb and Rose Trepasso: 11 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Patricia (Shirley) Besaw; his young son, Roy; infant great grandson, Alayas and a brother, Ed.

Ray enjoyed life so much he also enjoyed family picnics, the cooking of his wife and two daughters, fishing with his sons and playing jarts with all who would challenge him. He was the ringer champ for many years. "Get a stick" he would yell to measure the closer ones near the ring.

A special thanks goes out to his son Mark and daughter's in-law Raylene and Marlene who helped so much in his final weeks.

He had such a fighting spirit and awed all of us with his will to live at the end and inspired all of us with his strength. He will truly be missed by all who knew him including his special companion, his dog, Rena who would not leave his side even in death.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 am, Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Appleton with Rev. Andrew Kurz officiating. Friends may visit the family at church from 9:30am until the time of mass on Monday at church. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton with Military Honors.

WE LOVE YOU DAD, GOODBYE DAD WE HOPE MOM, ROY & YOU ARE HAPPY

TO BE TOGETHER ONCE AGAIN.

GOOD LUCK GOD YOU GOT A TOUGH ONE COMING YOUR WAY & HE MIGHT TRY

TO RUN HEAVEN MORE EFFICIENTLY IF YOU LET HIM.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Stafford family. I will always have a special place in my heart for Ray "my buddy". My friendship with Ray meant a lot and we shared a lot of tough and sad moments together! Mighty Jo & Dina were wedded in 2004 and also had a very special relationship. I will miss dancing the night away with ray to his all favorite tune "Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison. God bless and take care of you in heaven. Love, Lanny & Briana Atherton

I'll always remember the time I walked home from Lincoln School with Roy, and Ray got upset because Roy unknowingly tracked dog do-do through the house. Years later I was Ray's mailcarrier when he lived on Arlington St. Ray also happened to be on the same charter trip to Las Vegas, when my wife and I were on our honeymoon.
