Robert Rocks Obituary
MILFORD - Robert A. Rocks, 80, of Hopedale, passed away Mon. Nov. 19, 2018 in UMass Medical Center, Worcester with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Merilyn P. (Rondeau) Rocks.
Mr. Rocks loved being a firefighter in the Town of Hopedale for 16 years. Later, he was an ambulance driver for the former Ruggiero Ambulance Service in Milford. He also enjoyed his years in the security department at Motorola in Foxboro and later at Milford Regional Hospital for 6 years.
He was an amazing man who simply loved helping people. He was reliable and never passed by anyone in need of help. He was also a 5th generation blacksmith, certified welder, and liked to bowl. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was born in 1938 in Woonsocket, RI, the son of the late Anthony and Bertha (Beevers) Rocks and was a graduate of the former Mendon High School and Quinsigamond Community College where he received his degree in Fire Science.
In addition to his wife Merilyn, he is survived by a son Todd R. Rocks of ME; a daughter Darlene and her husband Jim Till of SC; two sisters Beverly Dubois of Mendon and Lois Mitchell of NH; four grandchildren Todd R. Rocks, Jr., Jasmine Carey and her husband Ronnie Pavlov, Isabelle Till, and EmmaRose Till, and two great-grandchildren Nigel and Finnegan. He was predeceased by two brothers Donald Rocks and Carl Rocks, and a granddaughter Marissa Rocks.
Visiting hours will be Sat. Nov. 24, 2018 from 10 – 11 AM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the funeral home.

Joanne and I want to express our deepest condolences to Merilyn and the Rocks Family on Bob's passing. He was a key part of the Hopedale Fire team during my late brother's tenure as chief. Bob was always willing to help others - a character trait often found in those who enter the fire service. He will be missed.

My sincere sympathies to Merilyn, Todd, and Darlene on Bob's passing. Bob was a good man, and a friend to all who knew him. I worked with Bob at Foster Forbes Glass plant in Milford for several years. We enjoyed several games of horseshoes together over the years at family reunions.
