So sad to hear of Bob's passing. I was class of 76 at the Academy and always admired his modesty and his kindness. He was an amazing person and I feel lucky to have known him. My condolences to the family. We have all lost a special friend.

To Bob´s family. I was a 1970 B´ville grad with Bob. Always such a nice person and a great athlete. I´d known him since 3rd grade. Please accept my sincerest sympathy. He was definitely one of the good ones. RIP my friend.

My sincere condolences to the VerShure family. Bob and I flew together many times at NWA and DAL. I remember him as a true gentleman, solid pilot and all around fine person. We always had plenty to chat about, be it the airline, the military or the Naval Academy (I'm Class of '73, Bob '74). We've lost a good man. Rest in peace, shipmate.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Bob when he was at the Naval Academy. I just discovered some letters from him during that period. I'd be happy to send them to you if you would like. Please see email address.

My condolences to Bob's friends and family. I was a classmate at USNA and a squadron mate at VP-22. I was blessed to have known him. He was a knowledgeable, talented pilot who was greatly respected by all the pilots in the squadron. He was always a pleasure to be with because of his kind nature, wry humor, and smile. We all will miss him and our prayers are with his family.

My condolences at the passing of an exceptional pilot and a good friend in a loss that came way too soon. Even when we were LTJGs learning how to fly, he exhibited a focus and dedication that was remarkable. I'd fly anytime, anyplace, in any airplane with Bob at the controls.

"Wheels" R.I.P., Shipmate! By the grace of God, your Airmanship and calmness in light of a catastrophic emergency, ten of us were able to see the next day. Look forward to being in the center seat and hearing your call to "set 1010". A honor and privilege to have served with you! You and your Ohana are forever in our thoughts and prayers.

During our lifetime we all have the privilege of meeting a few very special people. For us, Bob was one of those people. Although we only knew him for a few years, his warm friendship made it seem like we were old friends. Our mutual interest of Pickleball gave a chance to learn what a humble and kind man he was, always a gentleman and a sportsman. He and Carol made the game such fun. We will miss him. Rest In Peace, dear friend.

Kindest human you'd ever meet. Always willing to do anything for anyone, wanting nothing in return. More patience than you've ever seen. Warmest smile. Always keeping grandma safe and happy. A huge piece of our family has been taken from us but will be remembered and cherished forever. We love you, Bob. Thank you for everything. I wish I could tell you that.
Thank you for the hours upon hours of taking Sadie and I tubing, showing us how to fish and how to water ski (even though I failed although you made it look as easy as walking,) and then you'd create us the biggest fire for the best toasted marshmallows and smores around after already having spent the whole day catering to us. You always went above and beyond with a smile on your face. Childhood was wonderful because of you. It was the best part of our Summer's, to come to Michigan to visit, and to know that our Bob would make it the best visit ever.
Love you always.

Bob, you left us way too soon! I was blessed to have had the privilege of meeting you on my first day of Pickleball then getting to know you and Carol as friends. One of the nicest couples I have ever met! You made me feel welcomed and since that first day till the last game we played together, you have always made me feel comfortable and calm being around you. I loved your quiet laughter which always made me smile. Thank you! It was likely and I like to think that you were the pilot on some of my Northwest flights from New York to Japan... you were my "Sully"!
Rest In Peace Bob. I will miss you dearly!
Love, Tiffany

Bob was one of the first pickleball players I met in Sturbridge as he was one of the original group of players in the area. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his lips. Fair winds, Bob.

Bob VerSchure, a true gentleman...
Loving and dedicated husband, proud father and grandfather, friend to all... We have been blessed to have been his friend... Our hearts are heavy with his passing- we will miss him dearly... Our prayers are with Carol and the family...
Bob was always helping others, and enjoyed so many things... We will remember Bob and his infectious smile every time we do one of the activities that he so enjoyed (among others- flying, spectatoring, lumberjacking, fishing, water-skiing, roasting marshmallows around the firepit, and recently pickleballing)...
With love, Jim and Kathleen
