Robert Warren Obituary

Robert Wesley Warren

Princeton - Robert Wesley Warren, 71, died in his home on July 10, 2016 after a long fight with cancer. Bob was born and grew up in Shrewsbury, the son of Wesley Daniel and Hazel (James) Warren. He was educated in the Shrewsbury schools, including a year or two in the schoolhouse that eventually became Spag's. Bob graduated from Shrewsbury High School with the class of 1962. He went on to be an electrician and was well know for the work he did locally and as the town electrical inspector.

Bob was a passionate and knowledgeable outdoorsman, who was as much at home in the woods as in his own house. He was an accomplished fly fisherman, fly tyer and upland bird hunter. He co-edited several books on fishing and fishing flies and contributed to many fly tying journals.

Bob was involved in his community throughout his life. He worked with many others to craft the legislation that determined the use of the Quabbin reservation. He volunteered time and expertise at the American Museum of Fly Fishing, and was a trustee of the Princeton Land Trust.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Allison Roche and her husband, Shawn and Dan Warren and his wife, Courtney (Reno) Warren; his grandchildren, Maggie and Riley Roche and Wesley and Dexter Warren; his sister, Gail Baldaserini; his brother, Dick and his wife, Karen; nieces and nephews, Susan and John Baldaserini and Kathy Warren; his dog, Molly and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Bob's life at 4 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at their home at 12 Bigelow Rd., Princeton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Princeton Land Trust, P.O. Box 271, Princeton, MA 01541. To share a memory or offer an online condolence visit

One of my most favorite people in this lifetime I have been blessed to meet, Bob, you have fought so many years to make sure you missed Nothing in life with your family, your beautiful wife, your very special children, and those beautiful grandchildren that made your eyes twinkle as you shared stories of the beauty of life, your life. And all of your outdoor loves and pups! All of it, you Really Lived life to the absolute fullest, and with every bump and struggle- still that amazing smile, always, always for all of us at the clinic. You will be missed in so many ways to so many. I pray yet know you will always be with your loved ones watching over them, and I pray their pain and grief eases in time remembering all the wonderful times shared. My most sincerest sympathies to all of Bob's family and friends. I will miss you my friend, but know you are no longer suffering and at peace. Rest in peace Bob

So sorry to hear of your loss. Remember the love and the good times--it helps a lot. Even though we were cousins I didn't know Bob that well but remember some good times at the Lake and him coming to the house to hunt with my Dad (his Uncle Lloyd). Will remember all in my prayers.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I remember seeing Bob in the woods of Princeton, training his bird dogs. And I remember debating politics with Bob, over a scotch at Barb & Watl's. JR
