My deepest sympathy on the passing of Mr. Thompson. When I moved to Sterling in 1986 the farm stand became a daily stop in the summer. Eunice and Ronnie were the hardest working couple but always had time for a friendly chat. Even though his body was aging his mind was so clear and he had such a quick wit. A great farmer and a wonderful human being.

My dear Linda, I'm so sorry to hear that your father passed away. I have so many fond memories of your Father. I remember the first time Keith and I met him and your Mom and he said " you are my daughter's friend so now you and your son are part of my family too." RIP Ron and Fly high with the Angels above us. Fondly, Sarah and Keith Knowlton

Please accept our deepest sympathies on the passing of Ron to your whole family. Ron was always such a good man and so funny esp. when he shared memories of he and Dad - Dick Mansfield growing up and getting in trouble with Auntie Clara on the farm. Never knew they were such Dickens. We have such wonderful memories of the farm, visiting and the store and all the years growing up. I will miss my birthday twin who for years teased me for trying to steal his birthday - Dec 28th will bring a happy memory of Ron. We send prayers and hugs to all.

Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolence on the passing of Ronnie. He and i attended the Mary Ellen Butterick School in Sterling for 9 years. I always looked forward to getting together with him at his Thompsons Garden in West Sterling. We would look back to our growing up years in Sterling and always have a laugh or two. Rest in peace Ronnie.

Sarah,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in the loss of your grandfather. We have such happy memories of seeing him plow the fields and tend to his crops. Our visits to the farm stand for the fresh corn and your grandmother´s jams and relishes were the best!

Only blessed to know him for a few short years, I thoroughly enjoyed the intelligent and interesting conversations I had with him while helping out at the garden. Such a dedicated, inspiring ball of fire, I could have talked to him for hours. No matter he had wrinkled skin, an elderly gait and an aging body, his spirit was that of a 12 year old in my eyes, curious about the world, but innocent at the same time. . Slightly mischievous, but honest to the core, he was a teacher to the population of people that really cared what they grew. I am so glad I got the chance to exchange beautiful conversation with him. He was one of the true staples of Sterling and will be deeply missed. Reaching out to the family: myself and my family are available to help out with anything iyou need, please feel free to let me know iF I can hellp with anything. My Deep condolences are being sent to you and yours.
