Sandra DiTullio Obituary

Sandra DiTullio 71

Shrewsbury - Sandra "Sandy" (Mangs) DiTullio, 71, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, passed away on Saturday January 16, 2021, after a long period of declining health.

Sandy was born in Worcester on September 17, 1949, the daughter of Ernest and Barbara (Walden) Mangs. Educated and raised in Worcester, Sandy met and in April of 1970 married Anthony "Tony" DiTullio. They settled in Shrewsbury, raising their family there for over fifty years.

Sandy worked in the administration offices of the Catholic Diocese of Worcester, the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and lastly for Tower Hill Botanical Garden before having to retire due to illness.

Sandy is survived by family who never left her side: her husband, Tony DiTullio; her son, David DiTullio, his wife, Jessica, and their children whom she cherished, Leila and Andre; a brother, Randall Mangs of East Falmouth; an uncle and aunt, Steve and Doris Mazzola; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by an uncle and aunt, Leo and Marie "Chic" Walden.

Sandy was a vibrant woman with a huge heart and sense of humor in her younger years. She loved the beach, following her son in his career endeavors, and the lives of Elvis and Princess Diana. Sandy welcomed everyone into her home, and was known for her massive display of Christmas decorations. She was an animal lover as well, and had four dogs whom she loved unconditionally: Baron, Max, Kizer, and Ziggy. Although Sandy struggled in recent years, she still managed to be a big part of her family, seeing her grandchildren as often as she could.

The DiTullio family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Holy Trinity Rehabilitation Center for the many years of care, comfort, and compassion they provided for Sandy.

Out of an abundance of caution and adhering to Sandy's wishes, all services are private. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

Dave & Tony: I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Sandy. She will be missed and never forgotten. I have great memories of her when I'd come to see Dave or at the soccer field growing up when she would spend time watching our games with my mother. We will keep her in our prayers and never forget.
