Scott Fitzgibbons Obituary
Southbridge - Scott Patrick Fitzgibbons, 43, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 after a long illness.
Scott is survived by his daughters, Olivia and Savannah Fitzgibbons of Brimfield, MA. His girls were his source of strength and reason to fight as valiantly as he did throughout his illness.
He leaves his parents, Kevin and Nancy (Reynolds) Fitzgibbons of Brewster; his sister, Stacey Berube and her husband Kevin; as well as nieces and nephew Jaina, Julie and Matthew Berube of Rutland, MA.
His aunts and uncles, Kathleen Armstrong of Southbridge; Karen Benoit and her husband Paul of North Brookfield, James Reynolds and his wife Lisa of Sturbridge, Anne Bibeau and her husband Rick of Southbridge, Jean and her husband Robert Ouellette of Wyoming, and Florida, Diane and her husband Tom Allard of Southbridge, and many loving cousins and close friends.
Scott was employed by the Worcester County Sheriffs Department for over 20 years and also as an Emergency Medical Technician in excess of 20 plus years. He took great pride in his service and love to others.
Scott began his battle with cancer in December 2012 and was supported by his family and closest friends throughout his fight.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fitzgibbons Family Trust (for his daughters), c/o Thomas Dubrey CPA 139 Main Street, Sturbridge, MA 01566, or the Dana Farber Foundation.
His wake will be Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 4-7 PM at Notre Dame Church, 446 Main Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. A Mass at 10AM will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Notre Dame Church. At the family's request, burial will be private. Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge is directing the arrangements.

Our sympathies and prayers to everyone. Scott fought a tough battle but God chose to call him home. Scott is now made new again, pain free. A strong Angel to watch and nudge us from time to time. Rest in peace dear Scott until we meet again.

To the Fitzgibbons family,
My deepest sympathy for the loss of Scott. I truly enjoyed meeting up with him back when I was working in Brimfield. He was always there to lend a helping hand or a suggestion for the new guy and I appreciated his advice. When I would run into him from time to time after leaving Brimfield, he would always stop to talk. Of course, he would always halt the conversation to talk about his daughters, who were the light of his life. May God bless you in this time of sorrow.
