Sean Lemay Obituary

Sean E. Lemay, 46

WEST BOYLSTON - Sean E. Lemay, 46, beloved husband, father, son, and coach passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Born in Worcester, Sean was the son of Patricia (Nagle) Lemay of West Boylston and the late Gene Lemay. Formerly of Holden, he lived the last 14 years in West Boylston.

Sean was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, class of 1992. A self-employed contractor, he worked in maintenance at Worcester Country Club for eight years. In 2003, he married the love of his life, Becky Atchue whom he knew since childhood. In 2007, they moved to Becky's childhood home in West Boylston where they started a family, reacquainted with friends, and fully embraced the community. Sean wasted no time getting involved with his children's activities. For thirteen years he coached soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and flag football in West Boylston youth sports programs.

Throughout his life, Sean enjoyed outdoor sports including golf, disc golf, football, skiing, and soccer. He played youth soccer in Holden and later competed on numerous local adult soccer teams including indoors at Teamworks. In his teen years, Sean was a ski instructor with Wachusett Mountain's "Skiwees" program.

A man of immense generosity, Sean will be remembered for his devotion to family, his kind spirit, and selfless nature.

Besides his mother Patty, Sean is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Rebecca L. (Atchue) Lemay; his two children, Samuel and Charlotte Lemay; a brother Curtis Lemay of Summersville, West Virginia; a brother-in-law, Scott Atchue and his wife, Kathy and their children, Griffin, Regan, and Evan of West Boylston; a sister-in-law, Saara Cox and her husband, George and their children, Jordan and Delaney of Spencer; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and two German Shepherds, Charlie and Tank.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Sean's family from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, December 11, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Facial masks and social distancing are required. Sean's family will celebrate his life privately on Saturday, December 12. Others may join this service live-streamed at 11 a.m. at the following link: https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/4591251.
