Shawn Finnegan Obituary
He leaves his wife of 23 years and one month, Kim (Piltzecker) Finnegan; two sons, Shawn M. Finnegan, Jr., Eric R. Finnegan both of Worcester; his parents, Lawrence and Mary (Lush) Finnegan of Worcester; five brothers, William of Worcester, Ed and Kevin of Arizona, Brian of Georgia and Jack of Worcester; two sisters, Mary Ann of Arizona and Donna of Worcester. Shawn also leaves his friends and the children of Norback Avenue School who were a wonderful part of his life.
Mr. Finnegan was born in Worcester and graduated from Holy Name High School. Shawn worked for Norback Avenue Elementary School as the senior custodian. He enjoyed painting parking lot lines with his best friends Vin and Rick.
The funeral is Thursday, September 23rd from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 AM in the New England Dream Center, 5 Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 22nd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, PO Box 749596, Los Angeles, CA 90074.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Shawn because he was Bill's little brother. We were in church plays together and had a lot of laughs. I enjoyed Shawn's laughter and his humor. He could brighten up a room. My thoughts and prayers are with you because of your loss.

Although I have never met any of Shawn's family, I feel like I know each of you. I have worked with Shawn at Norback for the last 9 years and he spoke highly of each and everyone of you everyday. I was heartbroken when I read this mornings paper. I have not seen Shawn or Kim in many years, altho we only live a mile apart. Shawn Finnegan was an amazing person he made getting through Norback School easy and alot of fun he had a love for his job and a love for life in general he made everyone happy and for that im greatful he will no doubt in my mind be remember forever by everyone, he blessed with his presence throughout his life because there is not one person who can say something bad about him. One of the best people in the world. The saying "Only the good die young" definitely fits Shawn. He was an amazing person whose presence made people want to better themselves. I feel lucky to have known such a kind, warm, and hard working man. My thoughts and prayers are with Shawn's family.

I couldn't believe this when I saw it in the paper this morning. Although I did not know Shawn recently, I was a student at Norrback in the early 90's and Shawn was one of the nicest people I ever knew! He used to take Myself and a few of my friends out of class to help him set up for inside recess! :) He was so beloved by all the students. My thoughts and prayers are with the Finnegan Family.
