Shirley M. (Nussey) Rose, 83

SPENCER - Shirley M. (Nussey) Rose, 83 of 13 Donnelly Road, died Friday, September 12 in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge after a brief illness.

Shirley was the wife of Harvey W. Rose who died in 1975. She leaves her two sons, Stanley W. Rose with whom she lived and Steven J. Rose and his wife, Christine of Springhill, FL; one sister, Mareita Lanagan and her husband, John of Bradenton, FL; three brothers, Donald Nussey and his wife Nancy, Stanley Nussey and David Nussey and his wife Diane all of Spencer; three grandchildren, Andrew, Caroline and Ethan Rose; a great granddaughter, Ariana Rose; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Cindy Rose on September 2, 2014.

Shirley was born in Spencer, the daughter of William and (Evelyn) Mary (Peddie) Nussey. She worked for many years at TJ Maxx Corp. in Worcester prior to her retirement two years ago. She was a member of the Leicester Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1945 and spent many hours each month helping people understand what the Bible teaches. Shirley is remembered for her love of family, animals, gardening, baking and her quick wit.

At her request, there will be no calling hours, funeral, or memorial services. Donations may be sent to Spencer Animal Control, c/o Carol Gaucher, 28 Northwest Rd., Spencer, Ma. 01562 or Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, E.Brookfield, Ma 01515. J. Shirley was a hard worker in her private life as well as her work at TJX. I worked along side of her at TJX and also shared some time with her out of work. I will miss her. From one of her many work fiends, Elaine Potvin
