Stephen Grasseschi Obituary
Worcester - On Tuesday, May 7th, 2019, I passed from this life on earth at 694 Franklin Street to my new eternal life with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I now enjoy His promise to abide with Him forever. I thank Jesus for the 56 years of ultimate love and joy I shared as one with my wife Donna (Felicetti), whom I now await to join me as one for eternity. I thank my Lord for the wonderful family we were blessed with, our son Mark and our daughter Lori Blackwell and her husband Terry, and their children, Taylor and his wife Loretta, Rebecca and her fiancé Will. I thank each of you for the love you have always so freely shared with me. I thank the Lord for my brother Michael A. Grasseschi, Sr. and his wife Doris (Forgues), my sisters-in-law Judith (Felicetti) Keenan and her husband Richard, Maureen (Coffey) Felicetti and their children and families whom I await to see. I thank my loving parents, Alfred J. (Freddie the plumber) and Matilda (Tillie) A. (Canzano) Grasseschi for all they gave me, especially their unconditional love. I now abide with them in eternal love, along with my brother-in-law Frank Felicetti, my sister-in-law Diane Grasseschi, and my older brother John J. Grasseschi who taught me how to endure life's trials through his suffering with Lou Gehrig's disease.
To all my family and friends, I leave behind, I ask that you rejoice in my passing to new life - It's what I looked forward to all my earthly days. I always knew my Savior, Jesus Christ, who is Truth would keep His promise to me and I know He'll do the same for you. I had a great life! I was born December 14, 1940. What a day! I graduated from St. John's High School and Bentley School of Accounting and Finance. I worked in the accounting field for twenty years at Wyman-Gordon Company and fifteen years at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. I was a member of the National Guard and was a lifelong resident of Worcester's eastside and a celebrated my faith as a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. Some of my blessings in life which allowed me to serve my neighbors were Board of Directors Dismas House, incorporator and first Treasurer Wyman-Gordon Federal Credit Union, volunteer Worcester Crisis Center and Autumn Village Nursing Home, mentor Big Brother and You Inc., Diocese of Worcester Pastoral Council, Marriage Preparation Committee, Couple to Couple ministry and parish baptismal preparation ministry. I enjoyed my years of playing softball, bowling, swimming and water aerobics.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Friday May 10th from 4 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. I hope to see you there. Love ya. My funeral Mass will be held Saturday May 11th at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. (Please go directly to church). My burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, in Paxton. God bless and keep you and be sure to call on me for help when you're in need. If you wish to make a sacrifice in my memory, help a neighbor in need.

Dear Donna, when I read Stephen's obituary I was in shock. Worcester area funerals were always a double-edge sword for me as I said final goodbyes to close friends & relatives but joyful for the opportunity to see old friends. Seeing you, Steve and Maryrose at Paul's funeral was one of those occasions. So very sorry for your loss. What a legacy of love and compassion for others Steve leaves behind. Thinking of you.

I wish I were right near you to hug you. My heart aches for you. Your beautiful husband, that wonderful guy is now your angel.... Donna,I know he will look over you like he did your whole life together. I know there are no words that could ever soothe you but please know you're in my heart and my wish is that you find peace and comfort remembering all the joy and beauty and kindness your Steve brought you and everyone who knew him!! He was such a wonderful guy, I will always remember his soft, warm, kind voice and I will always admire the husband he was to you. Our water aerobic classes at Bally Total Fitness with you and Steve were such fun times together. Steve always spoke of you and your family in the most devoted, loving ways. Seeing you and Steve continue in fitness at the Greendale Y allowed me to see you now and again and say hello, which I always loved.
You, your kids, and your whole family are in my prayers Donna. Lean on family and friends - those who loved Steve LOVE YOU too - my love is with you.
Steve, you are a gentle soul. I will miss you! Soar with the Angels! In life you had such an angel spirit and so in death you are a most perfect eternal angel!

What a tremendous man of faith.Many times Stevie and I would talk about our God and Saviour Jesus.I know he is in heaven. We who die in Christ will be with him in all of eternity. The apostle Paul said eyes have not seen and ears have not heard what God has in store for those who love Him.The day after my beloved daughter died,God sent me a dream of my daughter Angela. I was dying of a broken heart. She appeared to me in the dream and told me not to mourn for her. She said it was so beautiful in heaven and that the streets were paved with gold and the walls were made of diamonds and precious stones. She also told me that being in the company of God was awesome. finally to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.She also told me it never gets dark and one doesnt have to sleep. Imagine hearing the angels praising and worshipping the Lord for all eternity. Oh what we who believe have to look forward to. I will see you one day Stevie.

As Louie Latino's eldest daughter, I remember visiting with Auntie Tillie and the family when I was little. Even as a young child I recall what a lovely family you all were. Dear Donna, Mark & Lori. I am so saddened to
have read Steve's obituary today. Steve was the best husband, dad, relative and friend that anyone could ever have. He always had a warm smile on his face that made you feel happy.
He is at the right hand of our Lord now and we knew that this spot was held for him for many years. We lost a family member, you gained an angel, and the Lord now has another incredible member to add to his staff.

While I rejoice with the Angels that my cousin Steve is with our eternal Lord, I feel we here have a great loss. I have always admired Steve for his loving way and his devotion to the Lord.
