Walter Hazen Obituary
CHARLTON/WEST BROOKFIELD - Walter E. Hazen, 92, formerly of West Brookfield, died October 22, in the Overlook Masonic Home in Charlton.
He leaves three sons, Stuart Hazen of Brimfield, John Hazen of Edison, NJ and David Hazen of Arlington; one daughter, Eva Herink of Jackson, NJ; one sister, Carolyn E. Allen of Great Barrington; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn L. (Hayes) Hazen and three siblings, Clyde, Rosamond and Edith. He was born in Brookfield son of the late George C. and Florence E. (Benson) Hazen and moved to West Brookfield in 1925.
Mr. Hazen worked as a printer for 37 years at the former William E. Wright Co. in West Warren before retiring in 1986.
Walter was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving in W.W. II.
He was a member of the George Whitefield United Methodist Church in West Brookfield, the Bay Path Lodge of Masons and was a Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the George Whitefield United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 576, West Brookfield, MA 01585. Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is directing arrangements.

I will always remember his kindness and sense of humor. We would meet every morning at 4 a.m. to start his day. He would tell me stories of his life; where he grew up, meeting his beautiful bride, how he absolutely adored his children, and so many other things. He will forever have a special place in my heart. I love you my Wally gator, Rest in Peace <3
