A great guy, was very fair to me as a high school kid, when maybe I wouldn't have been years later as a Dad myself.
Will remember him fondly as a funny, large and good man.
Much loved by his family.

Condolences to all of Bill's family on your loss. Bill trained my son Chris on the Portland run, and Chris spoke glowingly of how much he learned when they worked together. May Bill's memory be eternal!

Brother Bill, for more than 40 years we knew each other and worked many trips to the west end and back with guys like Al Pauquette, Kenny Winn and the Johnson Brothers. Those were hard days but those were the days, we don't do much railroading like that anymore. Brother Bill you worked hard and long, you will be missed by all, so long Brother Bill, Mike Twombly

I had the pleasure of working with Bill on a local freight job in the mid 1980's in Ayer, MA. We worked hard every day, but his fantastic sense of humor made the whole crew laugh, and and the hours pass, during our 12 hour shift. He was smart and caring and a true gentleman. May he Rest in Peace.

My deepest simpathy to Uncle Billy's family and friends, he was a great guy and one if the funniest uncles anyone could have
I feel honored to have had him in my life and will miss him. Billy was one of the few people who could go fishing with my Dad without wanting to strangle him and Dad has lost a brother and a good friend
We have all lost a good guy and his twisted humor will be missed

We of the Old Railroad Wheels will miss Billy sorely. Whenever we heard Billy's voice on the radio, we knew it was going to be a good day. Hold the Main Line, Billy!

I will miss Bill very much. He was a great guy to work with, he knew everything about the B&M Railroad and always helped a guy out when they needed advice.
