Jacqueline Borowski of Tellico Village in Loudon, Tennessee, went into the arms of our Lord on June 28, 2024. She was 97 years old.
She resided for the past eight years at the Neighborhood Assisted Living facility. Jacqueline was born to Clem and Ruth Heck in Detroit, Michigan, on May 20, 1927. Jacqueline lived in Detroit, Dearborn and Howell, Michigan. In 2016 she relocated to Loudon, Tennessee, to be close to her daughter, Joanne Wiklund.
Jacqueline married Carl Borowski in 1947 at Saint Anne's Basilica and moved to Dearborn where they had five children. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Jacqueline worked at Montgomery Wards department store in sales. When her children were older and their retirement years had arrived they moved to Howell, Michigan, and enjoyed their luck in casinos and yearly visits to Carl's hometown of Ironwood, Michigan.
Saint Anne's played a huge part in Jacqueline's Catholic faith. Jacqueline's parents Clem and Ruth Heck were married at Saint Anne's. Carl and Jacqueline married there as well on November 29, 1947. In wanting to continue this legacy, their daughter Marilyn married Don Schirrick at Sainte Anne's on September 7, 1974, and their daughter Marisa married Kevin Hand on June 1, 2013.
Jacqueline received all her Catholic sacraments as Saint Anne's and celebrated many honorable anniversaries and holidays at Saint Anne's. Her family found it only appropriate to have her last mass celebrating her life at Saint Anne's. Therefore, she will be having her memorial mass in the fall at Saint Anne's Basilica.
She attended school from 1st through 12th grade at Saint Anne's Basilica and lived right down the street from this beautiful shrine.
Her love of life was so defined by her sense of humor and buying gifts that would warm her heart when given to someone unexpectedly.
She took such pride in caring for and displaying her private seasonal doll collection outside her apartment door. Jacqueline was a true example of how to love one another. She was a perfect example of compassion and love to all who were lucky enough to receive her hugs of gratitude.
Her mother passed away when she was only two months old. Jacqueline was raised by her maternal grandparents. We picture her own mother, Ruth, waiting with our Lord, with outstretched arms towards her as she arrives into God's Heavenly Kingdom.
Jacqueline will be laid to rest next to her husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
