Bobbie Gentry Obituary

Bobbie Gentry

Goodlettsville - Mrs. Bobbie Jean Gentry, age 83 of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2020. She was born on June 5, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Archie and Altie Adcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Gentry. She is survived by her daughter Kim Carroll and her husband Jeff, her stepsons Redgie Gentry and Randy Gentry, her brother Vernon Adcock, her granddaughter Jenna Carroll who was the absolute light of her life, nephew Pee Wee Adcock, niece Vickie Norris (Tom), great niece Katie Norris, and a vast host of family and friends, each of whom was so special to Bobbie in their own way. Bobbie was a lively, outgoing person who never met a stranger. She loved being around people and spending time with her many friends. One of her favorite pastimes was hosting any sort of get together at her home, whether it was for a holiday, a party, or a church gathering, she loved it all. Bobbie also adored music. She was a very talented pianist and was the church pianist for most of her life. She passed down that love and talent to her beloved granddaughter as well. Bobbie had such a special bond with her granddaughter Jenna, and they enjoyed many wonderful times together through the years. Some of the most cherished times they had together was Bobbie always picking Jenna up from school and taking her to her art or piano lessons, and they especially loved shopping together. In her younger years, Bobbie enjoyed and was very talented with any kind of sewing craft, including needlepoint, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and others. Bobbie was also a beautician for over 53 years. Her hair customers were like family to her. A visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 2pm-7pm and again on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 12pm-1pm with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service beginning at 1pm.
