In your hour of sadness may God keep each of you. I remember Coach Starnes from my years at Cameron. He was my 12th grade homeroom teacher. I can remember his smile. Keep your memories of him alive and he will live forever in your hearts and mind. God bless!

To the Starnes Family I extend my condolences. Coach Starnes was a great icon in the classroom as well as the football field. Coach Starnes was my 10th Grade History Teacher and he taught his students the value of our rich black heritage. Coach Starnes was a great motivator and very inspirational by teaching us that we could accomplish anything, all we needed was the will to achieve. Sadly missed, Rochelle (Pitts) Russell Class of 74 East High Eagles.

One of the greatest icons in the classroom and on the field. Coach Starnes was a great motivator, and taught his students with pride and dignity.
