Frederick L. Silver

Old Hickory, TN

Passed away November 7, 2015. He was born June 12, 1929 in Greensboro, NC to Nell and William Silver, who preceded him in death, along with his first wife, Maxine.

Survived by his wife, Jean Silver; sister, Nell (Marion) Reece, Charlotte, NC; niece, Katherine (Richie) Cullom, Kennesaw, GA; nephew, Jeff (Darien) Reece, Taipei Taiwan; five great-nieces and nephews, Spencer, Sarah, and Will Cullom, Kennesaw, GA, Liz and Jon Reece, Taipei, Taiwan.

Fred grew up in Columbus, GA and attended schools there. He graduated from Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA in 1950, and attended one year later at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC before serving in the Korean War as an Army Aviator.

His working career was with E.I. Dupont demours. He was transferred to Old Hickory in 1968 and has lived there ever since.

He was a member of the Old Hickory Presbyterian Church, Hiram Lodge #21 of Delaware, Scottish Rite Valley of Nashville, and Al Menah Shrine.

Visitation will be at Phillips-Robinson Hadley Chapel Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203 or a charity of your choice.
