I knew Sharon (Sister Helen Marie) since before we started first grade at St, Henry in 1964. Her grandparents lived next door to us in Green Hills. I have such good memories of Sister Helen Marie when she came with the sisters to say the rosary at both of my grandparents funerals. I attended her Grand Mary's funeral at Christ the King. She came up to me and said "Richard I think my grandparents loved you as much as the rest of her grandchildren>' Living next door to Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Glaser, Sr. was always an honor. I got to sample all of the goodies she baked. I attended Sister Helen Marie Glaser's funeral at the Mother House too. Rest in peace Sharon (Sister Helen Marie) Glaser.

On the anniversary of Sister's passing we take comfort in the thoughts of friendship we shared with her. The loving memories make us smile at the thought of her, we have one more angel above us. Our thoughts are with the family and prayers that the love of God enfolds them and that He continues to bring you healing with the passage of time.

Sister Helen Marie was the greatest role model I could have ever asked for. I would always call her and my two others aunts "The Holy Trinity." I think about her every day especially as I go through my first year of high school. For those of you who had the pleasure of knowing my aunt, you all know that she always cared for the underdog and would always strive to make sure that every student had their own opportunity to shine in her classes. My aunt could always be seen drinking a coke, cracking jokes, telling stories, being with her family, or doing little acts of kindness. After reading all of the messages on this site, it truly brings a smile to my face and even a few tears to my eyes. It is the day before her third death anniversary and I'm thinking about her like crazy. Thank you to everyone who left a message, went to the funeral/visitation, and who touched my aunt's heart the way she touched mine everyone else who knew her.

She was my sixth grade teacher at Overbrook in her last year of being a lay person. I'm a teacher because of how she taught and treated me. She's always had a special place in my heart, that will never change. Thank God she was born, she was a gift from God to me - and I know I am not alone. Bless you all. My condolences are only given because I know it must hurt, I'm crying just writing this- I realize she is with God and it helps me be happy for her. Much love to all of you deeply affected by this amazing, beautiful, intelligent human being. I love you Ms. Glaser

It's taken me a ridiculous amount of time to write this. I knew Sister from her days at Camp Marymount. She was absolutely the best counselor anyone could ask for, we shared so many awesome laughs, too many to count, my face would seriously be sore from laughing. We sang a lot too. I know she's touched so many lives since mine, what a gift it was to know her. It was a privilege.

Sister Helen Marie Glaser was the granddaughter of my next door neighbors, Mr. Edward Joseph and Mrs. Mary Strobel Glaser. I met "Sharon" before I started first grade at Saint Henry School (Class of 1972) in June of 1963. I had the pleasure of knowing her longer than anyone else from my childhood other than cousins or other family members. She had a beautiful mother, a bright and talented father and three adorable sisters, a beautiful Aunt Maureen and two Williams cousins, and a quiet but brilliant Uncle EJ Glaser, Jr. and countless other family members that I met over the years. She came to both of my grandparents' (Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Formosa, Sr.)'s wakes and my Uncle Salvatore (Tony)'s too. I too attended her grandmother's funeral and cried harder than anyone there (almost). Sharon (Sr. Helen Marie) came up to me at Christ the King Church and said to me: "You know Ricky (my childhood moniker) I think Grand Mary loved you more than her own grandchildren". I smiled through my tears and said that I had known her since I was a very small boy of just five years old and how sweet and kind her grandmother had always been to me. I got to taste test all of her cookies, pies, cakes and goodies because I was a convenient guinea pig living right next door. The truth was, I was such a small, slight child, Mrs. Glaser was always trying to fatten me up! No problem now, I told her but back then I could eat a house and never gain an ounce! I loved all of these wonderful people and am glad that I had the privilege of knowing them for so many years and having been a part of their family for so long and got to grow up with Sister Helen Marie as we went from 1st through 8th grade together. God bless the Glasers, Hunleys, Yates, Williams and extended family and loved ones of Sister Helen Marie Glaser. She will be in my prayers always and so will her precious family!

Sister Helen Marie was the realest and most down to earth person I have ever met in my life. I can honestly say that she changed my view on life and how I act everyday. I was so blessed to have her as a religion teacher for a few short months. I'm so sad that she had to leave us so soon and I will miss her hilarious stories. Sister always told my class that love is our one gift from God that no one could ever take away because we can not be forced to love anyone. Let me tell you that we all loved sister and no one forced us to. We love you sister and we miss you more than anything.

Our prayers for Sister Helen Marie's family, especially her mother. We knew Sister Helen Marie at St. Benedict School in Cordova TN. She was always so full of life and had a wonderful sense of humor, that made you want to be around her. She was everything good that I remember about religious sisters who taught me when I was growing up. And I was thankful my sons also experienced her spirit, attitude and love.

Sister Helen Marie, may you rest in peace. To her family, please know she touched many students, especially the ones who struggled in school. She believed in people and inspired us all to do better. She was always fair and compassionate and never overreacted. My son shared with me her passing, he still thinks of her often. Many of her former students do. A true loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. To all her former students, continue to live your life with the grace and potential she always believed you had. That would make her very proud.

Sister Helen Marie was the Dean of Students at Bishop Machebeuf High School in Denver, Colorado. She only worked at the school while I was a freshman in 2012, and I was sad to see her go the next year. She was excited and friendly with the students, but never gave in when it came to discipline. I am so saddened by her death. Prayers go out for her and her loved ones.

I met Sister Helen Marie at Saint Benedict's in Cordova, Tn. She has played a very important part of my life. I recently have been trying to reach her in order to thank her for her help during a fragile period of time in my life. I had the opportunity to spend time with her after getting into fights in class in my early years between 5th-8th grade. I was reflecting back on these conversations in my life. I would love to find my adult Sister Helen Marie. I always loved to spend time with her. We would talk about what happened and then I would receive a detention and some light scolding. Then we would have a very meaningful conversation about life. I recently tried to reach out to her. I did not hear back from her. Her spirit in this world will be missed. She made a difference in this protestants life for a lifetime. I will miss your spirit. I wish we could have had one last conversation. I wanted to take the time she put into my life.

Sr. Helen Marie was the second principal with whom I worked at St. Paul Catholic School in Memphis. I will always remember her cheerfulness and her joyful laughter.

We are especially grateful for her support during the difficult times our family faced during my dad's illness and his passing. She was there for us and we'll never forget her kindness and compassion.

Sister Helen Marie was cool. My children adored her because she talked to them about all their favorite subjects: birthdays, football and Aunt Edie. A favorite memory is one when we were leaving violin lessons at St. Cecelia one day and my three children made me drive around and around and AROUND the circular drive hoping to get a glimpse of Sister Helen Marie. So many circles eventually made us all dizzy with giggles and fun. All for Sister Helen Marie. We will miss her.
