Jeff always had a great story, a witty sense of humor and words of encouragement for those who needed them. One only had to spend five minutes in Jeff's presence to understand the love he had for his children. The world needs more Jeff McEver. We can only hope to fill a small portion of his shoes as the ones he left behind are too big to fill. Rest in peace friend, we miss you already.

I met Jeff thirteen years ago when our children were in kindergarten together at Harding Academy. Over the past several summers we spent a lot of time together at Center Hill Lake. This is where I got to know Jeff. Jeff was a devoted, loving father. His children were the light of his life. He was so proud of all of their accomplishments. He truly enjoyed being around his kids and their friends. I remember him saying I love being around the kids. They are such a hoot! I have great memories of our times together. There was always a lot of laughter. Jeff loved hanging out with family and friends. He loved being on the water, taking sunset cruises, and playing his music loud. He loved to entertain and always wanted everyone to have a good time. Jeff loved adventures. I'll never forget the time that he lead us up a flooded creek to see a waterfall. It was a crazy hike, but seeing the roaring falls was amazing. Every time that I saw Jeff, he was a loving, giving, happy, upbeat, fun guy. It's hard to believe that he's passed on. I wish that I had known that he was hurting. I wish that I could have helped. Sending love to Narissa, Teagan, Michelle, Beau & Candice. Your Father was a great man who loved you deeply. Rest in Peace Jeff, Jah Love

The greatest man in my life has passed... I would like everyone to remember him as the most happy and selfless guy because he truly was. He was not himself recently and depression ruined him. It changed all his happy thoughts to dark one's. He was physically present, but his spirit was already absent when his life was taken. I know he will be looking over me as my guardian angel for the rest of my life and I can't be sad knowing that he's finally safe and happy again. I had such a strong bond with him where I felt all of his emotions life they were my own, so it makes me smile that he is out of his misery. Thank you to everyone who has given my family support. I still can't believe he's gone but I will get through it as well as everybody else.

Teagan and Narissa,
I'm so sorry to hear of your father's death and his struggle with depression. It is so difficult to overcome.
Our family is thinking of you and praying for peace and comfort during this time. Know that many others are doing the same, and you are not alone.

Jeff will truly be missed by many many people. I was fresh out of therapy school, and Jeff (along with his daughter Candice) gave me my first job, the opportunity to begin my career as a therapist with his company. I will always be grateful to him for this. My prayers continue to be with his family and close friends whose hearts are heavy with grief and loss at this time.

Narissa and Teagan. I was so sad to learn of your father's passing and of his battle with depression. It is an ugly thief, depression and it steals more than we ever expect. I remember your dad being at SO many Harding activities to see his girls, his bright smile and gorgeous eyes just glowing with love and pride. I'm sorry that I don't know your siblings, but I hope that they, too, feel comforted by friends and family as all of you learn to live without his light in your life. Peace be with you all.
