Barbara,
Saddened for the loss of Joe. Prayer and condolences to you and entire family in these times. I admired and respected Joe, from the first time we met on his bid for the senate. I was proud to have been involved in that chapter of his life, a new chapter in his new role for the people of his districts. He served them well.
My parents send their condolences as well.

Having known the Haynes family for many years, my husband and I recently became Joe's clients. He was a pleasure to speak with and he seemed genuinely interested in our lives and shared a bit about his. We shared a passion for the Vols. I saw him recently at Baker's Diner where he stopped and spoke to us as he left. We're sorry to hear of his passing and send our prayers and condolences to the family.

We have lost a truly good friend, a great statesman, a politician who gave honor to that profession, a husband who adored his wife, a very devoted father and grandfather. We wish he had been able to have many more years with his family - he earned them. I know many people of Nashville and Tennessee are just heartbroken, including David and me.
We had the good fortune to know him and his wonderful Barbara. We understand how difficult this loss will be for her. They were so much a team. They worked hard together and each have accomplished so much to help our community and our state.
God bless him, Barbara, his children and grandchildren. He has left a great legacy of service to our state and a wonderful family to carry on his fight for those who need advocacy. And we thank him, Barbara, and his family for his service and her service to us for the last several decades. We have been greatly enriched by all the honorable service they have brought to our community and our state. He was a gentleman, a dedicated advocate, and one who greatly loved his family.
