A wonderful man has been lost, but there are so many good memories of him to hold on to. Joe Russ was not just a friend, but my cousin and felt more like a brother. He lived the first few years of his life here in Batesville with us and we never lost contact. He was a true love in this family. He will be missed so much.
Best to Becky, Joe JR. & Kevin..with lots of love.

Becky:
I probably knew Joe for longer than most legislators, certainly anyone who was not from the Knoxville area. I always considered him to be one of the most genuine, caring, considerate and committed of public servants with whom I worked. In later years before I retired from UT, I enjoyed gathering in the late afternoon/early evening on the top floor of the Sheraton to visit with Joe, Ralph Cole, you and others. Please accept our sincerest sympathies. Joe made a difference and will be missed.

Becky,
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I do know how difficult this is for you as I lost my husband suddenly three years ago. You will have difficult days and lonely days, but you will be able to get through these times that challenge you. Stay focused on the things you still have to be thankful for and you will find your blessings are abundant to meet your needs through these trying times. Life does not always seem to move in the direction we would desire, but even so we can move in some direction that will help us to face each day. Remember you have many friends who care for you and will be praying for you to have grace through these days.
