I was so hopeful for Bob when I got his Christmas card from Colorado. I am so sorry. I have lost a long time friend.

I have great respect for Bob Newbrough. He was my colleague at Peabody College, Vanderbilt - a colleague that welcomed me instantly to the Peabody community (back in 1975!). A colleague that I admired for his scholarship that focused on social justice and caring for all of us in his broad community. He will be missed.

Bob was intense, fun and persuasive. I can't count the stuff he talked me into getting involved in, but it was always interesting and important.
