Four years later and the family misses Mike as much as
the first year. That is definitely testimony to the
man he was. A husband, father, grandfather,uncle
brother and a friend. Never a harsh word nor an unkind action. Gone from us way too soon!!

I'm saddened that I just discovered Mike's passing when I went to visit the barber shop yesterday. In May I moved to South Carolina, but I would still make the trip back to TN whenever I could to get Mike to cut my hair. The last time he cut me was about a month ago and I couldn't make the trip back to see him because I was traveling elsewhere. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the shop was arranged differently and the first chair barber told me that Mike had passed 2 weeks ago. I was both shocked and saddened. Mike NEVER complained about not feeling well even when he might have just finished a treatment. He was truly a great man and I will miss him. I wanted to tell his teammates that I wasn't finished with him yet, but I don't get to compete with God. Rest in Power brother Mike.

Today I am preparing to say farewell to my best friend. It is with a heavy heart that I do so. While I know that with every birth there is a time to die and we should be ready to accept when God calls our loved ones home.But nothing I did or could do prepared me for the pain I feel right now.
I am grateful for the many years we had together and the joy you brought to my life. While I know you had to go, how I wish you could have stayed.
Know that you will always be on my mind and forever in my heart.
