Nancy Murphree Obituary

Nancy Coleman Murphree

Franklin - Nancy Coleman Murphree, age 81 of Franklin, TN, passed away on November 1, 2020. Nancy was born in Hickman County, TN and raised her family in Franklin. She worked for First American Bank in downtown Nashville for fifteen years. She also worked as a clerk for the Internal Revenue Service for seventeen years. She perfected her seamstress trade from Watkins Institute and she was the owner of Little Folks Children's Apparel where she worked shows in several states to sell her heirloom children's clothing. She was a political activist for several candidates both nationally and locally. Preceded in death by her husband, James A. "Jim" Murphree; parents, Leonard and Maurine Easley Coleman; brother, Larry Coleman and sister, Jean Fanning. Survived by: daughters, Patricia "Pat" (Mac) Hughes and Mary Ann Murphree; brother, Albert Coleman; sister, Joyce Warbington; grandchildren, Logan (Sarah) Hughes and Lacey Hughes (Will) Baxter; great grandchildren, Harrison Hughes, Whitten Hughes, Mac Baxter and Katie Baxter. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Berry's Chapel Church of Christ Family Life Center, and Bill McDonald will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday. Interment will be at Williamson Memorial Gardens, following the service. Active pallbearers will be Mac Hughes, Logan Hughes, Will Baxter, Talley Floyd, Keith Welch and Bob Roland. Honorary pallbearers will be Sue Workman, Jennie Johnson, Faye McKay, Marilyn Hestle and Faye Claude. Memorials may be made to World Christian Broadcasting or Berry's Chapel Church of Christ.
