Met this great man when my father, Jim Barnes, was on his show that recorded in 2011 in Nashville. Still have pictures with him, Miss Sheila, my dad and I from that trip. He will be greatly missed. My father has since passed as well, but know he'd be saddened to know this as well. Rest in peace Mr. Hall, thanks for the memories.

Today, July 13, 2022, I just finished watching Steve's cooking episode about making Texas Queso Dip which looked delicious. I had just purchased Velveeta cheese and looked on the internet for a recipe and saw his smiling face. It was the first time I watched his show "Shotgun Red." Sorry to learn that he passed on in 2018. He seemed to have a delightful personality with a talent for making good food and sharing it with his audience. I'll look up other episodes of the show and happy that Sheila is carrying on his legacy.

It's hard to believe that I probably started watching the videos as he was passing and not really knowing it until July of 2022... today. After catching a few of his videos I thought to myself .. hmmmm... sounds like a Minnesotan... (I'm from Minneapolis/St Paul removed to Vegas decades ago).. YEP... He reads this stuff (or at least can sense it) you know. You Betcha.. Ufda... Doncha know? Rest in Peace but enjoy the next dimension!

I can't believe Mr Hall is no longer with us. I just discovered his YouTube channel a few months ago, I remembered Shotgun Red from the Ralph Emory show. I know he passed nearly two years but I felt a stab in my heart like it just happened. With all the terrible, scary, and horrific events happening in this country in current 2021 I literally keep my TV on youtube and watch cooking and I always feel better about the world knowing men like Steve Hall are still out there. Ms Sheila, his love for you was as clear as the nose on Shotgun Red's face, he would've moved Heaven and Earth for you and I am so very sorry, I know there's just no words that can give you comfort, but remember that you were and always will be loved the way most could only dream about. To you, his children, his grandchildren and remaining family thank you for sharing Mr Hall with us and giving US a little happiness and love from a man who obviously had no limit of that wonderful feeling and no limit on sharing it. God bless you all, no doubt he's in Heaven right now just waiting for and watching over his "pretty Ms Sheila". Thank you again for letting so many of us share in the happiness that is and always will be Steve Hall and his buddy Shotgun red.

He was a long time friend. From the days playing music in Aitkin until his untimely passing, he was one of the few people that never let me down. That is a friend.
Missed by many, he will live on in us.
Goodbye old friend.

My husband loved Steve's cooking show. He gave him the motivation to try cooking. My husband was laid off last year, after working for the same company for 34 years. At 60 years old, he could not find other employment. He became depressed and unsure about the future. After seeing Steve's show on YouTube, he decided to try and make one of Steve's recipes. Well, now he cooks most of our meals. He is more confident that he has other skills to use in life's many changes. Prayers for Steve and his family.

I was about to comment on one of Steves videos when I noticed comments of condolence. I had no idea. Although I never met him, Steve was my friend, through a screen that lit up every time he was behind it, teasing Sheila and making me feel like hed made that video just for me. That was one of his many talents. Talking to the audience individually. A God given talent. Tonight Im going to make fried chicken for my wife and five kids. Like we have so many in the past, well enjoy this recipe but tonight, instead of chatting, were going to watch Cooking With Shotgun Red videos. It will be like having an old friend over for dinner. To family and close friends, my deepest condolences. I know he went home in 2018 but please know that all of you will be in my prayers. Blessings.

Wow, just started watching his cooking shows and had no idea he had passed away. He was truly an anointed man with gifts very few people have or master. He was a natural teacher and commuicator, his voice was gentle, given, friendly and focused. He seem to have so much humility and kindness you almost wanted to hug him. My condolences to his family and friends (Miss Shiela). I will miss him and grive for a person I never met. What a person he must have been. Don't ever stop his cooking shows.

Oh my, I fell in love with the Shotgun Red Channel. I love his cooking show and I watch different episodes every night after I get out from work at the VA and I was wondering why I wasn't seeing Steve on the show anymore. I decided to look up olé Steve to see what's up and to my shocking disheartened surprise, I came across this obituary. I will admit that I teared up because even though I never met this man, he really touched my heart when I needed a pick me up, I have no idea why, but I always got a smile just listening to him, he reminds me of my uncle. Thank you Steve for the wonderful videos. My deepest condolences to the family. Rest in peace Steve, you will always live on in my heart..

Steve Hall, one of America's most universally talented assets...a man of great talent and a pure heart. Steve's fame came from his obvious love for performing and pleasing his fellow man. Best wishes and deepest condolences to his long-time partner, Shiela.

OH,... I am so sorry to read of Steve Halls passing!!. God bless his soul. I am a new fan to his cooking show which I just recently discovered on u-tube. I loved his jokes he really has a way about him that tickled me. And if he endorsed a recipe I KNEW it was good just by his reaction. I am still going to make those crockpot pork chops he raved about! What a loss he is. I had no idea he was gone that really saddened me. I usually watched his shows in the wee hours of the morning as I lay in bed and can't sleep, which is very often. I didn't know him well but I really enjoyed him and his show. My sincere condolences to his sweet wife Shield and your children or child. Steve Hall we need more GOOD men like him in this world. Blessing!
