Steven Quast Obituary

QUAST, Steven AlexAge 55 of Belvidere, IL and formerly of Louisville, KY and Burlington, WI, died May 15, 2008 in Belvidere, IL after a 2 year battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Steve was born August 25, 1952 in Burlington, WI, the son of Ernie and Vera Quast. He married Rita Foster in Madison, WI on October 8, 1977. Steven was a production plant manager for 30 years. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1971 and was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Nashville, TN where he was involved with the Men's Club, and a coach for the boy's and girl's basketball teams. Steven is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Matt Quast of Denver, CO and Allison Quast of Belvidere, IL; sister, Pam Quast of Belvidere, IL; brother, Robert Quast of Burlington, WI; numerous nieces and nephews. Steve is predeceased by his parents and brother, Jon. A Memorial gathering to celebrate Steven's life will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008 in McCanna Park, at the corner of McCanna Parkway and Hwy. 11 in Burlington, WI. Cremation rites were given and a private Interment of Steven's cremains will take place. A memorial will be established with the Les Turner ALS Foundation, 5550 W. Touhy Ave., Suite 302, Skokie, IL 60077-3254 in Steven's memory. The family was assisted by BUCK-WHEELER-HYLAND FUNERAL HOME, 218 W.
