I had the pleasure to casually get to know Troy through my photography. MontgomeryGentry has been one of my absolute favorite bands to photograph on stage! It has been six years now and I still cannot believe he is gone. I know I can say we all still miss him.

Troy, you brightened alot of peoples lives in the charities that you did. There is a special place for people like you and it is called Heaven. They say the Lord takes the best first and he took you home. You will be missed terribly here. Eddie will keep MG going in your honor. Your wife and kids will always miss you but you will be there in spirit for them. Loved the music and will still continue to listen to MG. RIP Troy.

I had the honor of seeing Montgomery Gentry in concert twice. T Roy was so talented. The fact that his life was cut short is so sad. I will miss his amazing singing, guitar skills and his generosity to his fans and community. He will be missed.

My condolences to Angie and his daughters. My heart breaks for you. I was fortunate enough to get to know Troy for a short period of time. What a fun, happy and goofy guy he was! He was always a joy to be around. He touched so many lives and is deeply missed! Even 5 months later I still cant believe he is gone and Im waiting to wake up from this horrible dream. I can only imagine the loss Angie feels along with his daughters and close friends. My heart truly breaks for all of you. I do find comfort knowing that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior! We will see each other again someday! Praise God!

Troy Lee Gentry you are deeply and sadly missed by all your family members friends relatives even Eddie Montgomery he is so sad these missing you and we hope to see you again soon okay we all love and care about you and that day I was sad and blue all the days that you made me laugh and smile of joy but now you're gone I'm sad and blue again and I hope every Montgomery could make me smile and remind me of you even though you and him didn't look alike but y'all sung together and it sounded good and since they're gone and to my husband's are going I'm sad and blue again so I hope I could get hold of Eddie Montgomery and see if he could send me either a CV a diss or tape with the music y'all song you're sadly and deeply nest from families friends relatives and people that we're going to see you and Eddie Montgomery sing at the Flying W that night you are seat sadly and deeply missed and I know your wife is very upset that she lost you I feel bad for your wife and your kids cuz they need a life and I know Eddie Montgomery might be a father figure to your kids now that you're gone they need a father in their life like every little kid needs a father in their life you are deeply and sadly missed and by the firefighters EMTs the people that were in the medical helicopter and the police officers showed up that day when that happened

T-Roy will greatly be missed but his love for passion for his music and life will go on in all of us....I met T-Roy and Eddie years ago in Huntington, WV. Southern gentlemen to the core and both were as gracious and down to earth. We're Kentucky men and I say that with very much pride. We love hard, we fight hard, we work hard....we serve hard...that's all we know...Thank you T-Roy for the music you gave and man you just made the world a better place to be. Thank you for the influence you left on this southern rocker and for that I'll always be grateful....Tbone will carry on with both you and Eddie in my heart.....I plan to carry the torch...I know Eddie will continue to carry the torch....I'm sure he will....you're friends and family will continue to carry the torch for you.....Montgomery Gentry will continue in some form...this world needs to know more about the love and passion you and your band has to give. Words can not explain the sadness in my heart. T Roy you and Eddie were such a huge part of my life! You were my reason for loving country music! Whenever you came to Illinois, we were there.. no matter how far or how small or big the town was! I know every song from every album and I can not tell you how much we have cried because of this news. We just saw you about a month ago at Riveredge in Aurora, in fact, as usual, we were in the front row! I have met you several time and seen you more than 20! My heart just hurts to know I will never hear you again! Thank you for being such a big part of my life! You make sure and watch over Eddie, Angie and those sweet girls and make sure they are all going to be ok. We all love you and miss you Troy. I am so saddened by the death of this amazing man and musician. I had the pleasure of seeing Montgomery gentry when they played with toby keith. I couldn't believe the news when my daughters called me. I am truly heartbroken. I have many fond memories listening to Montgomery Gentry, their music got me through some rough days, I'm glad I was blessed to see them in concert .

Troy Gentry I love your songs you make me happy you make me smile when I was down now you were gone I know you were up in heaven with my husband which I lost 8 years ago in December my four daughters February 13th 2015 my four Sons which were in the military February 14th 2016 my last and final daughter 25 years old three weeks before Mother's Day this year it is sad I'm sad and down because I miss you I miss my kids I miss my husband now since I'm married again I hope I don't lose this one he's in the military I don't need to lose another husband if I do I'm going to be hurt more then I'm going to say what am I going to do now he has two daughters they are call me Mom that makes me feel good but what am I going to do if they lose their dad and I lose my husband again another husband which would be husband number two then I'm going to be upset more and down MRS Gentry here is my phone number if you need anybody to talk to 856 690 2597 and if you want you could give it to Eddie Montgomery cuz I know he's going through a hard time as well dealing with the loss of a very good friend a very good singer a very good close partner and I know every Montgomery is going through a hard time dealing with the loss of his close friend good singer good guitarist somebody who loves playing a guitar it is sadly and deeply that Troy Gentry is now gone and so it's the pilot of that small helicopter only if I knew his name I lift it up to the Lord cuz God knows everything and Troy Gentry is looking down on all his friends family and loved ones he said lean deeply missed by everybody even me he's like a very good close friend of mine now since he's gone I'm hurting I'm sad and he is sadly and deeply missed by all his friends family members even Eddie Montgomery he's even taking it hard I'm taking it hard his wife is taking it hard everybody's taking it hard

I am so sad and heartbroken. Two of the best memories of my life meeting Troy and Eddie and going to their concert in Jackpot Nevada also at the video shoot for Hillbilly Shoes at the Thirsty Turtle. Troy,Its Craycraft. I met him in 84 during high school at Henry Clay. My locker was over from his. We became friends . I started seeing him out in Lexington at parties . Years later he was setting up to play at Sam's Club. I pulled in just to say hi. My daughter went like 5 rows to get him. I couldn't believe he came. He was as happy as I was. We hugged and talked. He told me he was afraid he wouldn't make it big. I said Troy ,you will. Don't you worry. One day you can and you will. We talked ,hugged,I left. I was at Austin City S one night. He came in.A few of us from HCHS were there. We cheered him on. Next he was on MTV cribs ,married,a child. Then two..BIG. I saw him downtown with Eddie one night. He did it!!! He is a good man,a good soul. Always smiled. I felt it. I've cried all this water. I've cried enough for everyone. If only I had known 9-8-17 I would lose my friend . Wish I could've screamed years ago don't get on there that day.!!!! God,this hurts. I will always love you,miss you ,I have thought of you a zillion xs before this happened,now even more. When I told you that you would make it big, you went for it. You made it here, Then u went to God and grabbed those wings. I will see you again my friend one day but until then look over me as my struggle is still here. We were 8 months and small days apart. You will always stay in my heart. You always have been . Thank you for showing my daughter who is now 30 that you weren't to busy to take time for your friend. God keep him safe. He deserves it. He makes me so so much of a better person. My heart goes out to your wife and children. It seems like a lifetime ago that you would be outside at our high school in your jeans and boots playing your guitar.
