I was so sad to hear about Bill's passing. In my life I have had the pleasure of meeting many people, but Bill was a piece of God's work. I knew Bill as a very compassionate, soft spoken gentlemen who had a very even temperament. I remember coaching with Bill for many seasons, watching his son Jonathan, and my son grow and mature before our very eyes. On the soccer field things could get out of hand, in one way or another, but Bill was always there to not only calm me, but any given situation down. It was almost always followed up by one of his chuckles. Bill is probably one of the only people to see me cry on a soccer field. Our boys were growing up, and moving along. I know Bill is in a much better place. He is probably there meeting old friends and making new ones with his warmth, his smile, and that chuckle of his. I loved the time I spent with Bill and will always have a special place for him, his family, and the children we worked together with in my heart.
I pray that God will send his angels to watch over Bill's family, to protect them, and comfort them, during this time.

With all of my love,

Coach Mark and Family

Bill was my guitar teacher in 1967. I've lost track of him over the years, and am saddened to hear of your loss. Reading the guest book entries, though, shows how beloved he was by all. My prayers are with you.

Our deepest sympathies to all of you. We graduated from Falls High with Bill but Mark has known him since grade school. Mark has fond memories of Bill & Hal eating dog biscuits as they walked to Bolich Jr. High. Bill was a groomsman in our wedding, we loved him dearly. Even though we lost touch when he moved to Tennessee, we thought of him often. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by everyone.
Sincerely, Mark & Cheryl Church

I will miss our laughs on the phone and our e-mail jokes. Thank you for always making me smile even when the days were hard. I will still look for you in Nashville and my heart aches for your family which I know you loved so much.

I have worked in the same department with Bill for over twenty years, going back to Akron before Bridgestone moved to Nashville.
He was one of the nicest guys I ever knew. He always met everyone with a "real smile" and a hardy hello, to help brighten our days. I am so sorry for the family and all us others who lost this fine man.
The example in life you showed us; will live on, way beyond these few years you shared with us.

One of your many friends,
Jim Klan

When Donna and I came back to the U.S. for the first time to work in Nashville, Bill was the first person to meet me in the department. Bill always made working in PSD a happy experience. What a wonderful experience! We are so happy that we had the opportunity to know Bill. May God bless Bill and may he rest in peace.

It's so sad to hear about Bill. I remember when Bill came to work for Firestone back in 1974. Such a nice clean cut young man. He truly was a friend to all that he came in contact with. Although we have been separated by job changes and moves, we remained good friends. I always enjoyed our phone conversations. Usually started out as business calls, but it soon got around to family and friends. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family in this difficult time. I will always have good memories of Bill.

Mrs. Bard and Jonathan:
Words seem so empty but you both as well as the rest of your family are in my prayers now and in the future. Jonathan many of your classmates are very concerned and looking forward to your return. All of your 3rd period JTG peers have expressed they don't know what to do or say but they asked me to tell you they care and are there for you however you want or whatever you need. Jonathan you are cared about and loved and respected by all.

Bill's absence will definitely be felt by us all. Never have I met someone who was always so genuinely happy to see you. His smile was affectionate, genuine and warm, and he always remembered your name. He was a indeed a kind & gentle soul, and a fine example to other men that he mentored. Although he will be sorely missed by us, I believe that he positively affected the lives of those that he touched, and his memory will surely live on in all of our hearts.

Heaven has added another angel to watch over us. God Bless.
