Joseph Bard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care - Zephyrhills Chapel on Feb. 5, 2026.
In loving memory of Joseph Arthur Bard, affectionately known as Arthur, who teed off from this world for the last time on February 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Born amid the falling leaves and crisp air of Sinclair, Maine, on November 1, 1940, Arthur's journey began with the promise of a life well played. He spent his final days in the sunshine of Zephyrhills, Florida, where he no doubt sought to improve his handicap in the eternal golf course in the sky.

Arthur had a career that kept him connected-quite literally-as a lineman for the Bangor Hydro-Electric Company, where he ensured that others stayed plugged into the world while he dreamt of chasing down errant golf balls and home runs. An avid golfer, Arthur found joy in working at the Lake Bernadette Golf Course, where he delighted in perfecting his swing and helping others do the same. When he wasn't on the green, you might have caught him strumming his guitar, singing tunes that echoed with the warmth of his spirit.

A lifelong New York Yankees fan, Arthur's loyalty to the team was unwavering, much like his love for coaching Little League, where he imparted wisdom both on and off the field. A man of faith, he found solace and community as a Christian, which guided him throughout his life's adventures.

Arthur now joins his parents, Patrick and Eva (Albert) Bard, several siblings, and his cherished canine companions, Sophie and Chloe, in the great clubhouse beyond. He leaves behind a family who adored him: his beloved wife of 35 years, Thala; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Bard; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Paul Lively; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kristy Applebee; daughter and son-in-law, Terin and Ken Conaty. Also mourning his absence are brothers Billy (Norma) Bard and Gerard Bard; sisters Bernadette (Valiere) Paradis and Theresa (Norman) Hallowell; grandchildren Hailey Applebee, Camden Voisine, Mindy Conaty; and his great-grandson, Dustin Phillips.

While we say goodbye to Arthur, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, music, love, and sportsmanship. May he rest in peace, with the perfect pitch and green fairways forever underfoot.
