Jeffrey KATZ Obituary
Jeffrey Joel Katz, (Yosef Chaim ben Liba Gittel) in his 70th year passed peacefully on Monday morning, October 21st 2013 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Beloved husband and soul mate of Maureen Rose (Monson) Katz and adoring and witty Dad to Jodie (Jeff Srour) and Eli. Adored Zaydie to Oliver Benjamin Shlomo Yair. Caring son-in- law to Jean (the late Juair) Monson. Cherished son of the late Benjamin and Lillian Katz. Loving brother to Sid and Carolyn Katz and the late Beatrice (the late Ronald Ginsberg) and cousins Sheila and Larry Hartman. Precious brother-in-law to Gloria and Harold Levy, Audrey Kaufman and Barry Ganz, David and Lily Monson and loved uncle of Jesse and Shawna Kaufman, Tori and CJ Monson, Jessica and Daniel Ivgy, Yoni and Chani Brukirer, Elayna Katz and Bill Graham and Adam Katz and Joanna (Ron Popoff) and Brent Ginsberg. So many friends and family will miss you dearest Jeff. You have been and always will be OUR HERO. Rest in deserving peace. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the outstanding care given to Jeff in the Jewish General Hospital, Montfort Hospital, Ottawa Hospital, Queensway- Carleton Hospital and RiverPark Place. Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue, on Tuesday, October 22nd at 12 noon. Interment in the Agudath Israel Section of Jewish Memorial Gardens, 6549 Herberts Corners Road, Osgoode. Shiva observed at 1059 Grenon Avenue between 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday, October 22 through Sunday, October 27, 2013. Services at Agudath Israel Congregation, 1400 Coldrey Avenue.

I was saddened to read of the passing of Jeff. My condolences to the entire family. I grew up on Henderson Ave and delivered papers to the Kats home in my younger years and I remember Jeff's Mom very well. She was a great lady. Jeff and I often did homework with others and visited before class in our high school years. Jeff: God Bless, Good Speed. Thanks for being my friend !
