Fred Gregory Obituary

Fred Carl Gregory, 89, of Wake Forest, NC passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was born in Angier, NC to the late Rass and Polly Gregory.

Fred served in the Korean War after graduating from high school. He joined the Raleigh Police Department when he returned from Korea. His career began as an officer before being promoted to detective, and later he became Captain of the S.W.A.T. team. Fred graduated from the F.B.I. National Academy. He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

Fred's strength and care will live in the memories of all who knew him, he will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lou Gregory; son, Freddy Lee (Kim); daughter, Vickie; grandchildren, Jessica, Logan, Amanda, A.J., Jack; and great-grandson, Leo.

Flowers are accepted but if you wanted to make a memorial contribution in honor of Fred, it can be made to the charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 4-6 PM at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St. Wake Forest, NC 27587.

A graveside service will be held at 12 PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St. Raleigh, NC 27603.
