Theresa Vincent Obituary

Theresa Paprocki Vincent, of Ashburn, VA, formerly of Wilson, NC, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023. She was born on October 11, 1927 in Dudley, Massachusetts, the daughter of Walter and Mary Paprocki. She graduated from Bartlett High School, Webster, MA, received her Nursing Certification from Worcester City Hospital, Worcester, MA in 1949 and a Bachelor of Science degree from Simmons College, Boston, MA in 1955. Theresa had a career as a registered nurse working for Pan American Airlines, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, and Massachusetts Eye & Ear. She married Donald F. Vincent in 1958 and relocated to Wilson, NC. While raising their family, she maintained her registered nursing license and held part time nursing jobs teaching at Atlantic Christian College (Barton College) and Wilson County Technical Institute. She also worked for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. She retired from The Wilson County Health Department in 1997 after fifteen years as a public health nurse.

Theresa had a thirst for knowledge, was passionate about life and very active in the Wilson, NC community. She enjoyed the arts and volunteered as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Wilson Arts Council and was Membership Chairman on the Board of Directors for Wilson Community Concerts. She also sang with the Wilson Community Chorale. She served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chapter Secretary for the American Red Cross, and on the Board of Directors of Barton College Friends of Hackney Library. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church since moving to Wilson in 1960 and volunteered on several committees including the Construction Design and Building Committee for a new church in 1985.

Most importantly, she was a loving, supportive and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald F. Vincent, Sr., her parents, her brothers Edward Paprocki and Henry Paprocki and sisters Helen (Paprocki) Hajec and Dorothy Paprocki. Surviving are daughters, Mary Reilly and her husband, Thomas, of Ashburn, VA; Katherine Vincent of Atlanta, GA; sons, Donald Vincent, Jr. and John Hohneker of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Irena Paprocki of Dudley, MA, grandchildren Joseph Reilly of Santa Monica, CA, Michael and Molly Reilly of Philadelphia, PA, Bridget Reilly of Arlington, VA, William Reilly of Boston, MA, and great granddaughters Margaret and Catherine Reilly of Philadelphia PA; sisters-in-law, Eileen Plaut of Cincinnati, OH and Patrice Vincent of Asheville, NC, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12 from 2-4 pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. A Funeral Mass will follow on Monday, November 13, at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree Street, Herndon, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash St. NE, Wilson, NC, 27893; St. Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree St., Herndon, VA 20170, or the American Red Cross.

I worked 7 years with Theresa at Wilson Co Health Dept. before she retired. She was a nice lady and good nurse. Prays for her family.
