TUNKHANNOCK — Everett D. Smith, 89, of Tunkhannock, passed away at the St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre, on May 21, 2014.
He was born in Tunkhannock on April 17, 1925, a son of the late Orval and Catherine Kingston Smith. He was married to the former Rose Madden, who passed away in 1998.
Everett worked for Griffin Concrete and Cornell Manufacturing as a heavy equipment operator and a welder.
Everett was a member of the Evans Falls United Methodist Church. He enjoyed collecting guns, woodworking and he was an avid sportsman.
In addition to his wife and parents, Everett is preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Kunkle.
He is survived by his daughter, Deanna DeRemer and her husband, Ronald, Tunkhannock; and his son, David E. Smith and his wife, Bonnie, Rochester, New York; grandchildren, James DeRemer and Cassidy, Scott DeRemer and Stacy, all of Tunkhannock, Heather Rider, Kerry Scott and Breanne Smith, all of Rochester; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. May 31st from the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with the Rev. Betty J. Reilly, of the Evans Falls United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment to be held at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Evans Falls United Methodist Church, 200 state Route 29 South, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.

Danny, David and families: lots of good memories of Uncle Everett from up in Lakewood and at Cornell's, lots of laughs and fun, that's the way I'll remember him . Sorry we won't make the memorial service, Mike's graduation is the same day/time. Please call if we can do anything. Tom, Charlene and family.
