Sandra Hayes Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Sandra Antoinette Hayes, 75, who passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at her residence.
Reverend John Wamsley, Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sandra, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter of the late Jack Hayes and the former Jewell Baggett. She had a Master's Degree from the University of Houston. She was a member of the Shamrock Hilton Corkettes, a nationally recognized synchronized swimming team. She was also a science professor at USL now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is loved very deeply and will be missed every day.
She is survived by her son, Blair Bourque and wife Tanya, her granddaughter, Baylee Bourque, and her brother Jimmy Hayes and wife Leslie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frederick Hayes.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of the service.

She was my first cousin; my godmother. Toni was in and out of our parent's house as I was growing up. It was a second home to her and she was very much loved by us all. I remember her laugh, how she was such a figure of elegance with fun that was uniquely "Toni". Although I had not seen Toni in a long time, my heart is heavy with this loss. My deepest condolences and prayers are with Toni's son Blair and his family, and with her brother Jimmy and his wife Leslie and their children. You all still hold a place in my heart. Jewell

Sandra (Toni) and I were classmates during elementary school years and I was quite fond of her. She was sweet and a rather reserved girl. May she rest in peace.

May God bless you and your family, I have such fond memories of Toni when we were children and what a lovely, caring and kind person she was when we were at Hamilton School in the 50's.

I am saddened by the passing of my friend, Toni. Although I had not seen her for a long time, I always looked forward to her birthday and Christmas cards. She had such a wonderful sense of humor. My sympathy is extended to her family, especially to her treasured grand-daughter.
