Steven Judice Obituary

Steven (Steve) Charles Judice

September 17, 1953 - October 8, 2016

LAFAYETTE - A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Crossroads Church, 150 Verona Drive, Lafayette. Doors will open to the public at 10 am and the service will begin at 11 am.

Steve was a hair dresser for years at Total Changes in Lafayette. He played USL football from 1972 to 1975. His love for the Ragin Cajuns began as a young boy after watching his father George Judice, Sr., support the Cajuns!

Steven was preceded in death by his father, George Allen Judice, Sr., and his mother, Nita (Jean) Judice.

Steven is survived by the love of his life, Marian Begley. His brother, George Allen Judice, Jr., and his family Sandy Judice Higginbotham, Stephanie Judice Barras and her six children, David and Kay Judice and their three children. Sister, Jodie Judice Golson and her husband Glenn Golson, Jr., and their three children Aaron, Jennifer, and Alanda and seven grandchildren. Sister, Kathy Judice Brown and her six children Jeff Boudreaux, Haley Boudreaux, Ashley Boudreaux, Nathan Brown, Daniel Brown, and Andrew Brown. Brother, Jason Judice and his wife Stacey Judice and their three children Jacob, Seth, and Caleb Judice.

Steve loved his family and his family loved him. Because of his love for football and the Ragin Cajuns everyone who attends the memorial service is asked to wear their UL Ragin Cajun attire and colors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made payable to Crossroads Church to help those affected by the recent floods in Acadiana.

I worked with Steve at Navarro's Hair Performers. Lost touch after I got married and moved to Florida and couple other states. Cheryl and I talked about getting together for lunch with Steve since I've relocated back to Lafayette. So sorry we didn't do it sooner. He will be missed. He was a sweet man.

Awwwww Man! Called today to get a haircut and
Steve didn't call me back immediately like he has for the last 20+ years. And his cell was disconnected. Even went by the shop to see if he was there. Had a bad feeling and checked the obits and there he is. I never check the obits, I just found out today. So sorry and my condolences to Steve's family. So sad to hear that he's gone, we ALWAYS talked about his beloved Ragin Cajuns and football and life in general. We've lost a friend and "the best hairdresser in Lafayette".

Worked with Steve at Navarro's back in the 80's. What a character!!! Always had a smile or a joke for you to help lighten your load. Had the pleasure to talk to him not long ago and am glad to have had that conversation with my old friend. THANKS STEVE... YOU WERE ONE IN A MILLION AND WILL BE MISSED. THE WORLD JUST LOST ANOTHER GOOD ONE.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Judice family. I am utterly saddened by the news of Steve's passing. The impact this man has had on me and so many is enormous! I first met Steve in the late 80's and was immediately drawn to his eccentric personality. We became immediate friends and have been friends for over 27 years. Few people in my life have impacted me the way Steve did. He was always brutally honest, held no punches, spoke from the heart, gave you a shower every time he washed your hair, always said he was the best hairdresser in all of Acadiana. Most of all I loved just talking to him about life... Football, politics, and the family he loved so much! I will forever miss you and miss going to your shop. Rest in peace my friend.

My phone exploded Sunday afternoon during my nap with texts from Chip Ricketts, Perry Sanders, Jr., Gary Rudick and Steve Duncan; long emotional calls ensued. We lost a special friend with a warm, but somewhat sly smile; Steve was all about the next laugh and making you feel his love of life.

Coach Madona's prodigy, Steve would hit you so hard on the field, your teeth would rattle. What a talented competitor!

Though we all feel a deep loss; our lives are richer for having know Steve Judice.

So sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I just found out. Read Bob Parker's tribute. Very touching. Steve had a smile that just made one smile back.

I will miss you Steve. Even though I left Lafayette after I graduated, I still look back on the great memories we had playing football and as room-mates at USL. See you on the other / better side.

So sorry to hear Steve passed away. Definitely his smile that captured everyone back at Lafayette High. Class of '72 and then on to USL days. You will be missed by all your buddies who played football with you in high school and college. Good memories to draw on. Sincerely

I've lost an anchor in my life. Aside from having played ball, run track, and run a marathon with Steve, (the better athlete), I found that whenever I would visit Steve's shop, he would always make me laugh and feel like I was the most blessed man on the planet, just as he considered himself - no doubts. There was not a meeting between us that Steve didn't thank God for his blessingsresulting in the both of us thanking God for our blessings. It may have started out with discussions of the latest line on a football game or boxing match-up, but it always ended upbeing blessed. He'd say We made it this far, Bobby and so we had. I have to admit now that particular anchor is gone from this life. I have to live with that and be grateful that SJ was a part of my life for as long as he was. I will always reflect on those wonderfully simple moments and always remember the resulting inner peace.

Juice! Very sad to see his sudden passing. Wish
we could have said "goodbye". What a spirit of joy in everything about him. Wish college years could last forever. What a great time we had in school. What a treasure of memories. Will miss

Though I have only seen Steve a very few times over the last great number of years, I always will remember him as he was at Lafayette High. He was a Ragin Cajun before the term was coined.
