Vergis Chargois Obituary
Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011, 11:00 AM, Spirit of Liberty Church, 2841 Louisiana Ave, for Vergis Sterling Richard Chargois, 78, who passed away April 2, 2011 at OLOL Regional Medical Center. She will be buried in Lively Stone Cemetery. Bishop George Austin will officiate the service.
Vergis leaves to treasure her memories four daughters Gustavia (John) LaCarna of Baton Rouge, LA, Mary Helen "Kalisha" (Raymond) Despanie of Lake Charles, LA, Carolyn Richard of Dallas, TX and Emily "Emma" Richard Hazen of Lafayette, LA; one son Joseph (Gail) Richard; three brothers Roy Sterling, Richard Sterling and Lloyd Sterling of Lafayette, seven grandchildren Troy Sterling, Tyshia Despanie Powell, Rahsaan Despanie, Delicia Richard Crews, Warland Despanie, Nicole Richard Bernard, Candace Richard and nine great grandchildren, Vergis also leaves to mourn the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of her late husband of 32 years, Curly "Tom" Chargois, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Lydia and Jimmie Sterling, her late husband Curly "Tom" Chargois, her first husband Darrel Richard, and her sister Edna Grace Sterling.
Viewing will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 7-10:30 am at Kinchen Funeral Home.
Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc is in charge of final arrangements.
