"… I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day." 2 Timothy 1:12. Abner Thurston Brice, went to see Jesus face to face on December 16, 2016. Born to Abner T. and Myrtle Brice on March 29, 1926. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jimmie Hawsey Brice and sister Peggy Harrell of Zachary. Children: Sandy Korem and husband Dan of Dallas Texas; Mike Brice and wife Becky of Baton Rouge; Terry Brice and wife Leanne of Madison, Georgia; Tim Brice of Dallas, Texas. Grandchildren: Carrie Vitt and husband Pete; Erik Korem and wife Hayle; Luke Korem and wife Ashley; Ryan Brice and wife Cristy; Allison Ackerman and husband Jerrad; Adam Brice and wife Nicole; Britney Frierson and husband Richard; Tyler Brice. Eleven great grandchildren. Life long friends, T.S. Lamb and wife Frankie, who is in Heaven; Nick Lamb and wife Sandi; Annette Lewinn and husband Russell. Very special friends Subho and Mona Chatterjee. He graduated from Zachary High School, received his BA from Louisiana College and his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored several churches during his life-long ministry including: Spring Creek Baptist Church, Spring Creek, Louisiana 1950 – 1954; Parkview Baptist Church, Alexandria, Louisiana 1954 – 1968; Florida Blvd Baptist Church, Baton Rouge 1968 – 1989. During his years in the pastorate, he served as Moderator, Judson Baptist Association; Executive Board, Louisiana Baptist Convention; Board of Trustees, Baptist Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana; and Board of Trustees, Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, Monroe, Louisiana. A memorial service will be held at Florida Blvd Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at noon. Visitation: 10am – noon prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Thurston Brice what is a true man of God and a wonderful person to know. It was my pleasure to have known him and I am convinced I will see him again. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to know him and he is greatly missed even to this very day in 2020
