Blanche Alexina Davison Stewart

With open arms, The Lord graciously welcomed Blanche into the glorious kingdom of Heaven on Friday morning, December 8, 2017. Since August 25, 1962, proudly and humbly abiding by her wedding vows with the epitome of integrity and fidelity, Blanche had and held, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, until death did they part, her devoted and dutiful husband of 55 years, Henry Lloyd Stewart III. Blanche nurtured her four children, Stephen, Shelli, Susan and Scindy, her three grandchildren, Jullian O'Neil, Lauren Elizabeth and Summer Zoe' Elizabeth, and her great grandson, Jullian O'Neil II, by the word of The Lord. A graduate of Xavier University, Louisiana State and Southern University, Blanche was a devout member of both Saint Francis Xavier and Immaculate Conception Catholic Churches in Baton Rouge where, between the two, she served as a religion-education teacher for 30 years and organist for 50 years. Blanche was a retired educator with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Visitation with Blanche and her family will be on Thursday, December 14th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. with recitation of the rosary at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1565 Curtis St., Baton Rouge. Blanche's Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Reverend Father Thomas Clark, S.J., pastor. Blanche will be interred at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Desselle Funeral Home in Baton Rouge is compassionately managing Blanche's funeral arrangements.
