Charles Dupont Obituary

Dénis passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 59. For over twenty years he was employed with KCS Railroad where he worked his way up to Trainmaster. He was also a pipefitter for twenty years, a lifelong resident and native of Plaquemine, La. Dénis was loved by all who knew him and was known as a very competitive outdoorsman who focused on deer and turkey hunting. He was proud of his days playing JV and Varsity football for Plaquemine High. Visiting will be at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 5 to 9pm and will resume on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 8 to 9am with Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine at 10am. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Eva Mendoza Dupont; children, Gabrielle Olive Dupont Hebert and husband Derek, Tyler Jon-Claude Dupont and Ryder Dénis Dupont; grandchildren, Chevy and Jayce; sisters, Olive "Lolly" Tuminello and husband Michael, and Désirée Goodbar and husband Carl; brothers, John Shelby Dupont Jr. and wife Erin, Frankie Dupont, Bill Dupont and wife Alexia, Steve "Talon" Dupont and wife Donna, and Jamie "Mooga" Dupont; mother-in-law, Dolores Mendoza; sisters-in-law, Donna Fontenot and husband Richie, and Suzette Mendoza; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, John Shelby and Olive Jumonville Dupont; brother, Thomas "Tody" Dupont, and father-in-law, Ivan Mendoza. Eva, Gabrielle, Tyler and Ryder I'm very sorry for your loss. Denis was always very kind to Adam and myself and I will be forever grateful for the times spent with him at the camp as a kid. He was a stand up guy and a great personality be around. May you all find peace in dealing with this huge loss.
