We are so sorry for your lost he was a great man (Family,and friend). Chris remembers when he helped him put the trim up in his house and is so appreciative of his help. You and your family is in our prayers. We are so sorry we missed the funeral. We wish we could have went on the fishing trip he so wanted to go on with us. Derrick was one of the best friends I could have ever asked for. He was always there when needed no questions asked. I'm so glad that we were blessed enough to have him in our lives for the last 8 years. We will always love you Red, and you will NEVER be forgotten.

Trudy, I remember this little guy from way back when we played ball together. I can't express how sorry I am to hear this. The loss of a child is devastating as I watched my mom & dad go through this. Please know you are in my thoughts & prayers & I pray God comforts you the same way he did my patents. Derrick Barton was what you would call the perfect friend there isnt a time that I can remember that he ever wasn't there for me we were friends and in my mind he was my brother . We worked together and did some incredible stuff I'm going to miss him greatly . His fame in life was irreplaceable love ya man Ill c u there high ball it!!!!!!!!

Ms Trudy and Family I never met your son but heard lots of good things from my Son Jason and his friend Chris and I will not have words to describe that painful call that I received at 4:30 am from a crying voice that said Mom my friend is dead those words will never leave my memmory as he kept saying that it was suppose to be me as we switch drivers, all I know that the Lord has a plan for all of us and we are not supposed to questions these horrible things but I can't help but to ask the Lord why this young man that had so much to live for, I am so sorry that you have to go through this horrible pain.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you, May God Bless You and Your Family always. and may Derrick Rest in Peace...AMEN
