Heather Craven Obituary

Luke 23:43 - Jesus said to him, "Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise." On Monday, May 11, 2015 Jesus kept his promise to Heather Craven. She fell asleep in the comfort of her bed and peacefully walked away with our Lord. Heather struggled with her health for many years; trying the best that she could to overcome her illness but it took its toll on her body. Heather is preceded in death by her father, Donald Joseph Craven, paternal grandfather, John Craven, grandmother, Mary LaVaye Lowry Craven Thompson, step grandfather, James Thompson, maternal grandfather and grandmother, Harlan Lake and Elinor(Bobbie) Kinsler Moore and her uncle John Lake Moore. She is survived by her mother, Elinor Louise Moore Craven, aunt Susan Moore, aunt Joan Bell Moore, sister and brother-in-law, Marsha McClaren Craven and Roger Poser, two nieces, Carly Pitre Schneider and Jessica Pitre Martin, nephew, Jace James Pitre, great niece, Chloe Schneider, great nephew, Hunter John Schneider, and three nephews, Michael Wayne Moore, Richard Owen Moore and Robert Benjamin Moore. I would like to give special thanks to Rhonda Joseph. Your care and support during Heather's illness gave us comfort and ease of mind. Wanda Randall, there are not any words to describe how much you mean to Heather and me. You came into our family during a difficult time and you never left. Your compassion, love and support will never be forgotten. Heather, you loved to help others in any way you could, by listening, offering suggestions and giving your heartfelt hugs. I'll miss your beautiful laughter, giggles, and how you could be so joyful. Your love of music and dancing you learned from your dad, as well I know you truly missed fishing with him. I know you and your daddy are catching up on lost time and fishing off a boat; that image makes me smile. As difficult as it is to let you go, I could not ask you to stay; you have earned your wings. I'll miss you more than you could ever know, I'll hold on dearly to the good memories. Please don't worry about your dogs Bella and Cigi; I'll love them forever, and when you look on the Rainbow Bridge, give Mamie a hug for me. I won't say goodbye, I know we will be together again. Fly Free Heather, you are free at last. Heather was 41 years. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Broadmoor United Methodist Church located in Baton Rouge at 10230 Mollylea (the intersection of Sharp Road and Mollylea) from 9:30 am until a celebration of Heather's life begins at 11:00 am. A meal will follow in Room 101 of the Adult Educaltion Hall. In lieu of flowers a donation to your favorite charity is welcomed.

Ms. Elinor...my heart breaks as I am just hearing the news of your loss! I wish I could've been there to say, "till I see you again, Heather!" Through the pages of Facebook Heather and I were able to reconnect and I am so thankful for that. I only wish we had followed through with our "we must get together soon!" I would love to see you once you are up to visitors. You and your family are in my prayers. And know we are thinking of you often over these next few months. Your faith will carry you through! Hugs, prayers and much love!

Elinor, I wish there were words, actions - something I could say or do to ease your pain. At this time, I know only God can do so. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am blessed to have known Heather and look forward to seeing her again when I am called home.

Dear Elinor! I was so sorry to hear of Heather's passing but know she is no longer fighting her illness. Her smile remained beautiful. You know the angels are looking down on you now! You know I am here for you.
