Joan Flint Obituary

Joan Flint - family had a special meaning for her in addition to her two surviving children Connie Flint Walker and Daniel Quinn Flint her extended family was at St. Aloysius school for all her students she taught in first grade. She did not have grandchildren from her children but has had many student grandchildren and now great grandchildren she was privileged to be a part of their lives and loved watching them grow into adulthood and success. She nurtured all and did always keep each and everyone as if they were her own grandchildren in a special place in her heart. Not only were her students at St. Aloysius her family, the choir where she was the oldest member was as well. Her love for gardening was one of her deepest passions and she will always be remembered as "The angel in the garden." It was her happy place and the beach. In keeping with family tradition, she enjoyed putting together genealogy books. All who knew her considered her a foundation member of St. Aloysius guiding the school and parish through milestones for its future growth and students shaping the future to someday resurrect a time capsule buried by her first grade students on the school grounds.

Joanie will always be in my mind as one of the finest and most dedicated teachers. She always put 100% into her lessons and loved her students. She was so kind and supportive to me when I came to St. Aloysius. What a wonderful soul.

Mrs Flint was my next door neighbor in Perdido Key, FL for eighteen years. Her passion for plants and maintenance was amazing and inspiring. She put in many hours in the hot sun taking care of Solana Shores and people who lived there. It was a privilege to call her my friend and I will miss her very much.

Mrs. Flint was an amazing teacher! I was blessed to be in her class! I was also very lucky to able to get to know her as I grew up at St. Aloysius. I returned to her class room and helped her after school. Sending my deepest sympathies to her family.

What a wonderful person and teacher. Joanie never left her classroom until all her desktops were clean and her room ready for the next! She will be missed.
