Johnell Sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. As pre teens Johnny lived down the street from my home on Hood Ave. I was very fond of Johnny as a friend and a Sigma Chi Brother. One of the most fun times CeCe and I had was at Beau"s home during the 1950 Sugar Bowl Holliday with you and Johnny Beau and Laura James and CeCe and me. Two of the couples made it into lasting marriage What a blast we had. I remember dancing to Papa Celestine at Beau's friend Gordan Saucy's house where Regal beer was piped into the rooms. I also think of Aubrey Parker when Johnny's name is mentioned. They were inseparable. They entertained all of the time by playing the piano-by ear- and telling stories and jokes. He obviously was a great, accomplished man who touched many lives. I know he will be deeply missed by especially his family but also the many lives he touched. The few times I met him I could tell he was a wonderful family man, always friendly and talkative. Heaven has gained an angel. We are praying for comfort in your hearts because of the loss of your loved one.

To the family of John Allphin:
I first met John when we moved to Baton Rouge in 1958 and we soon became close friends working together in political and civic activities. We have remained good friends over the years. He was a wonderful Christian gentleman, dedicated to his family, friends, and community. I never saw John without a smile. We will all miss him but we have wonderful memories of him. You all are in our prayers.
